Sharon M. Peterson is a former middle school teacher and has the personality to prove it. One of her favorite quotes is from Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath: “It was her habit to build up laughter out of inadequate materials.” She strives to tackle life that way and create characters who do the same. She lives in Washington with her husband and four children, including two autistic sons. She has two cats, one dog, one Russian tortoise, one tattoo, and an intense fear of poodles (don’t ask). She can usually be found hunched over her computer, creating characters and stories she hopes you’ll love as much as she does.

Writing is fun!

It's a romcom about a small town librarian and a football player who enter into a fake engagement... FOR REASONS.

Things I have Googled as I write this book: taxidermy, when is football season, the Dewey Decimal System, cows, Eagle Scouts, and really bad pick up lines.

I'm excited and nervous (and all the other feelings) for it to go out into the world. (less)

I very much enjoyed this one. It was a page-turner and so full of feeling. Make sure to check trigger warnings.

For those who want to know: It is VERY light on the spice (which I think was the perfect choice for this book) and has minimal cursing.

I am sad. The last 10% was... blargh, I am sad. Read with LOTS of tissue close at hand. So much loss and grief in this book. There's a ray of hope at the end but... yeah, I'm still sad. ...more

The Fast Lane by Sharon M. Peterson
"This book is a new favorite

I loved everything about this book. Alicia and Theo and their bantering. All the extra characters I can’t wait to read about. The only thing I think it was missing was more pranks on Peter, lol. " Read more of this review »

"Such a fun and romantic comedy! Really enjoyed the lightheartedness which was even better with the realistic medical journey. "
