Suede D. Goldmann penned his first fairy tale at age twelve, winning a local contest that sparked a lifelong love of storytelling. A few years later, a prize-winning ghost story hinted at what would become his true passion: mystery and murder.

Said to hail from the snowy, possibly mythical Winterland, Suede is as elusive as a four-leaf clover. With a detective’s eye and a taste for secrets, he writes sharp, suspenseful stories laced with dark wit and just enough chill to keep readers turning pages.

His novel Malaria is a slow-burning, twist-laden tribute to the golden age of the classic whodunit. It earned a Gold Medal Winner — Mystery/Detective at the Global Book Awards, Third Place Winner — Mystery/Crime at the DBT Literary Awards. It was a

Ok, let's get serious...
First off — I deny the existence of writer’s block. That said, denial doesn’t always work! So whenever I’m stuck, I take it as a sign that I need to unplug.
Second off — I read. Simple as that. I let myself be inspired by other writers and their stories. It doesn’t have to be a whole book—sometimes just a few pages or a single chapter does the trick. 😉
Next, I shake up my writing habits and try approaching things from a different angle. Thinking outside the box always helps unlock something new. For example, I might jump ahead and write a brand-new chapter—or even the ending of my novel.(less)

I’ve also got a pretty cool title for it, but I’m keeping that under wraps until it’s finished! (less)

The Fifth Silence ('The Lost Book')

This isn’t brand-new news… but it is the story I’ve been waiting years to share properly.

For a long time, I called this project 'The Lost Book'. It was my very first story—the one that started everything—but it lived quietly off the shelves, waiting for the moment it could finally step into the light.

And I couldn’t let it stay buried.

Today, that story returns with a brand-new identity:

The Fifth Silence by Suede D. Goldmann
"Overall, the storyline was strong, with a surprising twist at the end and clear, easy‑to‑follow writing. The book opens in first‑person from Olivia’s point of view, which immediately drew me in. I connected with her quickly as she sensed her family w" Read more of this review »
The Fifth Silence by Suede D. Goldmann
"This one took a minute to get going but once Olivia started digging into her aunts old murder case I was hooked. I loved how it flipped between 1994 and 1974 so you got to see the original investigation alongside her trying to piece things together.

There’s something about a mystery unfolding among the old streets and buildings of Florence that really drew me in.
