"I really loved this! I love any book with a poetry format. Like Inside Out and Back Again and The Poet X.

It was a good book, i loved learning about Omid and reading about his experiences. I read this fairly quickly, maybe two and a half hours.

"This one totally surprised me as it’s been on my “to-read” list for so long. I loved the depth and the Shakespeare, Eminem, and Biggie references. So many solid qualities of a novel in verse. This is well done!"

“They sing about how they've never been afraid
to speak up. To tell people
what they're thinking.
About anything.
Anything.
I mean, how is that even possible?
To have never been afraid?
How can someone speak up,
speak out about a thing
they know might
make others
upset?”
Arya Shahi

“It was that impossible thing: happiness that does not wilt to reveal the thin shoots of some new desire rising from within it.”
George Saunders, Tenth of December

“It happens a lot. The first frame is the winner.”
Gregory Heisler, Gregory Heisler: 50 Portraits: Stories and Techniques from a Photographer's Photographer
