I've gone cliché festive
On this side of the hemisphere the festive season is turning a bit Dickens-ish - the nights are long, the already painfully short days are mostly grey and uninspiring. It is snowing and my balcony plants are mostly covered in the white shit stuff. The cold just hits one in the face even before one has opened the door to the outside.
You know, the usual.
So here I am, all festive, wearing a red t-shirt and my warmest training trousers, with a notebook on my lap and literature queries in my search engine. I am also hungry, but trying to ignore it whilst looking up European literary magazines to submit my poems for consideration to.
Facepalm. Cliché.
You will be pleased to know that I solved this situation by having something to eat. And instead of submitting a poem to be read by editors somewhere, I wrote two new poems.
Much better, thank you.

Signed copy news
This is exciting! We all know books make the best gifts, so very soon I will be offering a very limited stock of signed copies of my first book! Hardcover and paperback. If you would like one, please do comment or message me.
The books will be signed and with a little note from the author to go along with it. I might be influenced on what to write in my note, but do allow for some artistic editing there :)
The prices will be as they are in my Lulu shop, shipping charges depending on where the destination is. E.g. no additional fees in Czechia, a small fee for EU, a bit more outside of EU. Please ask for more precise information, hard to list all the places in the world here :) Customs forms and all that filled out by me.

Halloween is upon us!
If you dare to take this challenge or just would like to take this opportunity, then the links are here:
E-book via Lulu - here is an epub file, to my understanding it will work just fine on all of the newer reader devices.
However, if your device is older or just very specific you can find other links via The Book I Owed to Myself page, or search for 'The Book I Owed to Myself' on your device's bookstore.
On the October 31st through the November the 1st the hardcover edition will also be on sale.
Link to all the book editions via Lulu.
I would also like to take this moment to remind any readers of any new books (especially the print copies) - new authors will always heartily appreciate if you buy from their direct publishers / distributers.
It is understandable that sometimes for print books it isn't always viable - in this situation I personally would prefer to share the profits with smaller, indie bookshops around the world, not the reseller industry giants.

Too much excitement
So, today I decided to read the article my friend sent me the other week about publishing audiobooks. This article led me to a fairly exciting research during which I totally forgot to eat my breakfast for at least 2 hours. :D
Hi, yes, as the reader might have guessed, I get taken by ideas. and I love the internet and all the opportunities it can give an author. This time it's not going to be a rant about the industry giants. But about me going totally starry eyed excited about self-publishing of audiobooks.
My research led me to a fair bit of v informative articles by different authors. It also lead me to some potential distributers I could use. Also, I found out, since I'm a non-fiction author, it is the industry standard that listeners prefer authors of this genre to narrate their own books. (Apparently for fiction listeners tend to prefer professional narrators.)
This idea was actually started by another friend of mine who mentioned I should consider doing a podcast series of my poems. She also stated my voice is charismatic. I suspect, this is going to be proven or disproven sometime in the future.
Having the control over my process and just jumping on ideas as and when I have them, this is the most amazing thing about being an indie author. I love this stuff!
I am also extremely scared, yet I am going to try to brave this anyway.
