January 2025 - *Bloggity Blog*

HAPPY NEW YEAR

It’s so difficult to write one of these things in a New Year, without something horribly cliché. Although, I am one of those people who are seeking to do the basic resolutions with my 365 day refresh.

Lose weight? Sure.
Spend more time swimming, walking and on my exercise bike?
Absolutely! Find inner peace, clarity, enlightenment and all the buzz words?

Ahh that one is going to take longer.

For those close to me and have been following for a while, will know that my second half of 2024 unfortunately resulted in my marriage breaking down unexpectedly. Predictably, my writing and work ethic suffered and during the time I should have been sorting through BETA feedback for Within the Woods, I took a lot of time out to focus on my situation and find a way to move forwards whilst everything imploded around me. Although nothing is perfect or certain in these days and there are still many changes to come for me personally, I can find the bandwidth again in my brain to being thinking about Terin and the others. In a perfect world, I could have thrown myself into my work and ignored everything else completely around me, but I’d have done myself a disservice in ignoring my own mental and emotional health. I’m sure Terin understands my need to ignore her for a bit. I’m sure. Hopefully. She’s so demanding!

Despite what the looming year will hold for me, it’s going to be one of business and growth. I will be focussing on bigger goals, stricter schedules and prioritising myself – which I think will be the most difficult thing to achieve.

But here we go; welcome 2025!

Let’s breakdown my movements:

What am I working on?

Within the Woods – Book 2 of The Chrysalis Saga: I’m currently combing through BETA reader feedback to put together my third draft. I’d originally hoped to release this last quarter of 2024, but I’m hoping for Q2 2025 release. More on this soon.
The Cat Among the Crows - Book 2.5 of The Chrysalis Saga: I have not officially released this title across any social media just yet. I’m hoping to aim for Q3 2025, but I fear that might be too ambitious. We shall see!

Upcoming projects

• How Much is This Going to Cost Me? – A semi-satire ongoing look into my time working within the Veterinary industry.
• Book 3 of The Chrysalis Saga
• Book 3.5 of The Chrysalis Saga

What am I reading?

Fiction

Daydream
Daydream (Maple Hills, #3) by Hannah Grace
By Hannah Grace.
The third book in the Maple Hills series in which we centre around Henry and his new love interest. Having read the first two, I fell in love with some of these characters and to return to the series feels like I’m being welcomed home into a small American town that I’ll never have the pleasure of experiencing!

Non-fiction

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
The Power of Now A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle
By Eckhart Tolle.
I’m a chronic worrier so this was recommended to me by my uncle. Although self-help books are generally not my forte and something I really struggle to digest, there are some really great quotes in here that I’m highlighting as I go along (GASP, DEFILING A BOOK?! I know.) There is definitely something to be said about focusing on the present and enjoying the feeling of Now, rather than living in a different timeline altogether.

My TBR pile is now becoming dangerously big, looming over my bedside table while I’m trying to sleep and I don’t help myself by adding more on purchase sprees. If you have any recommendations – please let me know!

Would you like to become an Alpha/BETA reader?

I only have a few slots for each and these get snapped up pretty quickly so please let me know if you’re interested or not. My current feedback requirements are:

• You must be able to read to deadlines. I will often give my A/B readers a month minimum to read and send thoughts back to me. I will be lenient if emergency situations happen as we’re all human but repetitive failure to meet deadlines will result in your spot being refilled.
• You must have access to Microsoft Word, Wordpad, etc. or any other software programs that will allow you to attach notes to the text as this makes it easier for me to track.
• You must be trustworthy, reliable and able to adhere to secrecy on any project.

Are you keeping up to date on socials?

I tend to hang out at all these cool places. Sometimes I fall into a meme-hole and sometimes I’ll stream the odd game on Twitch in my spare time. Come hang out and say hi!

April 2025 - *Bloggity Blog*

Oh, hello there!

I’m still here – quietly squirrelling away behind the scenes while the world continues to spin around me. From my January newsletter, you’ll know there have been so many changes in my personal life, that my author-ing had to be placed on the back burner for a little while. Although there are still many things going on, I’m steadily clambering into the writing chair once again and picking everything up.

My aim for the next couple of months is to work out a definitive posting schedule that’s right for me and allows me time to stream some games again (which I sorely miss, btw), in addition to sitting down to write, edit and work on some bespoke work for other publishing projects.

At the time of writing this, I now have two jobs! Both in the veterinary industry and both demanding on the day to day, but I do love what I do. On the side, I’m trying to get back to Vet Nursing revision in preparation for going back into studying when I’m able to.

I’m also pleased to announce that I’ve given up bread and thus, don’t suffer as much bloating as a did before. How many IBS girlies do I have in the audience today, huh? Don’t be shy! I’ve also lost some weight, which is amazing. Fun fact: if you skip through my social medias, you will see a constant fluctuation in weight over the months/years. I have always struggled with making the right choices with food and led a very stationary life up until now. Fingers crossed this good health period continues!

There’s your short update for the month. I’m currently facing my garden, eyeing the weather and ready to pinch back the washing the second a rain drop threatens to fall.

That’s my life – super dramatic and adventurous! Hmm, what else is there?

What am I working on?

Within the Woods – Book 2 of The Chrysalis Saga: One last edit from me to double check pace, story, etc – and then it’ll be going off to the editor! This will likely be a Q3 2025 release – I’ve finished the cover and will be revealing this verrrrrrry soon!
The Cat Among the Crows - Book 2.5 of The Chrysalis Saga: Aiming for Q4 2025 release. This still hasn’t been *officially* announced across any of my social medias yet, but I’m looking forward to this one.

Upcoming projects

• How Much is This Going to Cost Me? – A semi-satire ongoing look into my time working within the Veterinary industry. This is going to be an ongoing project for a long time.
• Book 3 of The Chrysalis Saga
• Book 3.5 of The Chrysalis Saga

What am I reading?

Fiction

The Alpha's Mystery
The Alpha's Mystery (Shifters of Grey Ridge #6) by Reece Barden
By Reece Barden.
I’ve been steadily going through this series over the past couple of years. This is now book 8 in the series and I’m still plodding along! As of writing this, I’ve just noticed there are a couple more volumes – yet more books added to my TBR!

Non-fiction

The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment
The Power of Now A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle
By Eckhart Tolle.
I’m still working on this as things in my life have caused me to fall off the whole self-love journey, so I’ve kept this on the bedside table to read the odd chapter every now and then, when I feel I need some wisdom.

My TBR pile is now becoming dangerously big, looming over me while I’m trying to sleep and I don’t help myself by adding more on purchase sprees. If you have any recommendations – please let me know!
