First of all, I am so very sorry about your mother. Losing my Momma was the hardest thing ever and to answer your question...
My grief has gotten more manageable. It is still hard during the holidays because that is when the memories of her are the strongest. The smells, the decorations, the presents, the FOOD!! I try to focus on what I can do for others and not the sadness. I have found when I focus on others that helps me to feel joy and not the pain as badly.
