Jade Wylde is a writer of words and hoarder of books from the rolling hills of Yorkshire.

Some of her proudest achievements are walking down a red carpet event in London with their long-suffering fiancé, receiving an award for the best dissertation on their Masters course, and somehow managing to kill a cactus.

Yes, really. No, she doesn’t know how she managed it either…

When not typing away at a keyboard, you’ll likely find Jade buried under a fluffy blanket with a book in one hand, and a cup of tea in the other.

I saw it and instantly had the idea about a serial killer complaining about how hard it is to dispose of a body when you don't have a spade to hand (the prompt was Spades vs. Clubs). I loved the idea of it being from the killers' point of view, as that's not something you usually see in books. I wrote a little 250 drabble and posted it, but then it stuck with me for the rest of the day, and I realised I wanted to expand it into an actual story. The idea changed a bit over the time I was writing it - which is common for me - but that's how Vat of Acid was born! (less)

“Social anxiety is a completely normal experience. We are social animals. We want to be accepted by our peer groups and we do not want to be rejected. If people do not have any social anxiety, something is seriously wrong with them.”
Jessica Pan, Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come: An Introvert’s Year of Living Dangerously

Andrzej Sapkowski
“Anxiety is never irrational, Geralt thought to himself. Aside from psychological disturbances. It was one of the first things novice witchers were taught. It’s good to feel fear. If you feel fear it means there’s something to be feared, so be vigilant. Fear doesn’t have to be overcome. Just don’t yield to it. And you can learn from it.”
Andrzej Sapkowski, Season of Storms

“If we are being misled, or misinformed, or even directly lied to, to what end is this being done? Whose interests are really being served?”
The Secret Barrister, Fake Law: The Truth About Justice in an Age of Lies
