After years in military service and more in school, I have decided to take this new journey. I have always loved stories that captivated me, made me question my own thoughts, and thrilled me until the last page. Becoming a writer was always in the cards, I just needed the confidence to take that first step. As a LatinX author, I know how important it is to walk head up high knowing my background and culture are not a crutch, but fuel for my creativity. I have attended the City-Lit Baltimore Book festival and conference in 2017 and 2018 which help aspiring writers get recognition. I was a fiction editor for the University of Baltimore’s Skelter 2019 literary journal as well. From Marine to writer, my journey is only just beginning.
