Suzy was born in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. During the formative years of her life, she and her family lived on a farm with no access to running water or electricity. Despite her remote upbringing, Suzy was drawn to travelling and keen to explore the wider world. After university, she joined a global management consulting firm, which broadened her reach and enhanced her understanding of people, culture and change. In 2004, Suzy moved to London, where she currently resides with her partner and two children.

Today, Suzy works with senior leaders across the public, private, education and third sectors to solve some of the most complex social issues of our time. She is a specialist in inclusion and diversity and is widely recog

You need deep and meaningful time to dedicate to it, and to do it often. Writing is like a muscle you need to exercise and the more you use it, the easier it becomes! (less)

I meet so many individuals who care, but don't take any action when it comes to creating a more equal and inclusive world. They don't take action because they are afraid to say or do the wrong thing, and (if I am honest), many don't take action because it's easy to be lazy when inequality isn't directly affecting you. I wanted to help build confidence and capability on these topics, and to stir up more ambition. If we have more people taking an active role, I believe we can create a more positive and inclusive future. (less)

“Exploring our history isn’t about wallowing in shame. We cannot ever own the attitudes and actions of our ancestors. But if we fail to see the legacy of tragic, discriminatory and
inhumane events, we allow their influence to continue.”
Suzy Levy, Mind the Inclusion Gap: How allies can bridge the divide between talking diversity and taking action

“Inclusion is achievable. But to do so, we need more people with strong skills taking part in shaping a future that does more than simply replicate the status quo.”
Suzy Levy, Mind the Inclusion Gap: How allies can bridge the divide between talking diversity and taking action

“It is easy to assume that when the law changes, attitudes change too. Unfortunately, this is rarely the case. The law is like a sledgehammer: shifts in policy or law open the possibility for change, creating an immense amount of opportunity, but culture cannot be rewritten as easily as the law can. It takes decades, or in some cases centuries, for belief systems to shift.”
