After teaching high school for twenty-two years, Liane Spicer ran away and embarked on a more adventurous lifestyle, living by the Tolkien motto "Not all who wander are lost." She has sojourned in several countries, working as assistant editor of a newspaper, human resource manager and company administrator while writing and editing three novels, one memoir, and two gift books for writers. Her book reviews have appeared in print and online newspapers in the Caribbean and North America, including the Nassau Guardian, South Florida Caribbean News, and the Trinidad Guardian. So... I was working on my editing website a while ago and I did a Google search using the name of the site and my own name (Charmaine Rousseau) as keywords. to check whether Google's web crawlers had picked up the site. Right at the very top of the first page of results I saw something that made me pause: my name in conjunction with a prize that I had submitted a story to then completely forgo Read more of this blog post »

Liane Spicer Hi Lincoln! I'm delighted to be your Goodreads friend! I love the description of your work, and I'm a great fan of Erma Bombeck-type wit. I'm not on Twitter yet - I'm resisting so far because of all my other cyber-commitments.

I'm on Facebook, though. Let me know if I can find you there!

Liane Spicer Ann, I too love the sound of falling water. And the sounds of wind, rain and surf.

Wood smoke has a great smell. I also love the smell of earth when rain hits it after a dry spell.

Ann Keller Hi, Liane! Great to meet you.

I'd love to have my own private waterfall, too. I fell in love with the sound of falling water when I was a child and it hasn't lost its appeal yet. I think my favorite "perfume" is probably wood smoke, too.

Liane Spicer Shawnette, thank you for taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed CAFÉ AU LAIT. If you ever decide to visit Trinidad be sure to let me know! My next romance is set in Miami, and the hero and heroine have Caribbean roots as well. It's in the final edit stage right now.

Regarding your question, several readers have told me they would like to read Wanda's story, so I'm giving that some thought for the third romance. I'd like to see more of Gaston myself; I really enjoyed writing him! :)

Thank you for the generous feedback, and all the best to you!

Liane

SassyMama Hey, Liane...just had to stop by and let you know I ENJOYED your debut...I felt like I was on vacation and I'll definitely have to put Trinidad and Tobago on my list of places to visit one of these days...i was CAUGHT UP in the romance between Shari and Michael...I also look forward to reading your next romance...QUESTION...will we see any of your secondary cast in future novels...for instance I would love to read more about Wanda and Gaston...they were something else...best of luck to you with your future writings :-)
