Don't Drink The Water

Popular Science has a great article called "What Would Happen If You Drank Water From The Gowanus Canal?" Needless to say, it's a fascinating read (spoiler alert: dysentery).

If you want to read my version of what happens when you drink from the Gowanus, download a copy of my book The Canal for .99 cents!

The Manuscript

Finally. After nearly four years, I finally finished my new book, TIME MASTER.

It's about life, dreams, and vindictive future selves.

More info to come...

The Canal: The Video

Go behind the scenes of my book, The Canal, and see the place that inspired it: the highly polluted, yet strangely endearing, Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, New York.

And in light of recent events, please consider donating to Hurricane Sandy relief!

Bad Photos Of Writers (Continued)

I recently saw Martin Amis in conversation with Matthew Weiner (the creator of Mad Men) as part of the Writers Bloc series. Not sure I quite understand the reasoning behind the pairing, but I'm a huge Amis fan (Money is one of my all time favorite books) and I managed to get yet another mediocre photo of a writer out of it (heads in the foreground are becoming my signature style).

Of Interest

-Delillo's Cosmopolis is now a movie directed by David Cronenberg. Here's the trailer.
-My current book is about a 20-year-old who meets his 40-year-old self. Meanwhile, here's video of a 30-year-old meeting his 12-year-old self.
-And, for no better reason other than I'm reading it at the moment, here's Jonathan Franzen writing about Donald Antrim's The Hundred Brothers.

The Canal: A Visit

While in New York recently, I made sure to pay a visit to the gritty-as-ever Gowanus Canal. Much fun was had, and much floating debris was witnessed. I shot a lot of video while I was there, and am currently in the process of editing it all together. In the meantime, here's a few pics of some rainy canal action.
