I frequently use music as a soundtrack for my writing (blog posts forthcoming on that topic) and will also create pieces as a response to a piece of art or photography (more than one poem in What If... was written in this way). For me, art is interwoven.

Aside from that, just paying attention to the everyday can yield a wide range of prompts. A throwaway remark, a momentary visual, a pungent smell... all of these contribute to my writing.(less)
