New Release!
Make MeToday, Dec 5, 2023 Make Me (A Last Chance Beach romance) is available on Amazon.
On Saturday the 9th it will be available on Apple, Kobo, Nook and more. Here's a taste:
The worst thing that could happen to a man who doesn’t want children is to inherit two little boys.
The next worst thing would be to have a nanny with a child of her own.
Archie Jones, a wealthy playboy who’s never stayed more than two weeks in any one place finds himself saddled with an old friend’s four- and six-year-old boys.
When his brother suggests desperate Archie hire his wife’s sister, Archie can’t say no.
Equally desperate Beth Matthews is appalled that a man who can’t remember her name, or show up for family events, is now responsible for the lives of two adorable orphans. When he proposes she join him in a co-parenting partnership, she’s torn between her dislike of the man and the obvious needs of the children.
Not to mention she’s a broke single mom with an explosive secret.
In this forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers romance set in the charming beach town of Last Chance Beach Archie and Beth must find a way to compromise, live together, and always put the needs of their children first.
Archie soon learns he’s underestimated mousy Beth while she finds new appreciation for the footloose man who does all he can to build a loving family despite his many failings.
But when Archie suddenly abandons them, will Beth have faith in the changes she’s seen in him or will she believe he’s returned to his wandering ways?

Book Birthday!
That's right, The Winterland Waltz released today and I'm thrilled to end off my writing year with this book.
My heroine, Kayley explodes her life into smithereens and returns to her hometown to regroup and start fresh. That's the kind of thing women do when they learn they fell for a married man who lied and betrayed her and his family.
The worst possible man to get involved with would be another one with a wife stashed away somewhere.
And writing about the "worst possible" is how I roll.
But Nathan isn't your typical hero and certainly not "cheating" in the traditional sense.
None of that matters to his youthful Vegas mistake though...the "bride" who shows up looking to destroy his new relationship... or else. The Winterland Waltz A Dickens Holiday Romance

Congratulations!
I'm excited to say that readers blew through my personal dream of 1000 Giveaway entrants. In total, 1127 Goodreads readers entered my Kindle Giveaway for The Winterland Waltz A Dickens Holiday Romance.
Here's a snippet of what they'll be reading:
Black Friday - Dickens
A flash of Christmas red outside his living room window caught Nathan Brent’s eye. He was painting the windowsill when he looked out to his front walk. A woman stood there, dressed in a red puffy jacket, black jeans, short, sexy, ankle-high boots. He set his paintbrush down on the edge of his paint tray and watched the woman he’d been waiting for walk up the paved path to his front steps. Through the grimy window he saw she was taller than average, with black hair and a jaw that could cut glass. Gorgeous.
She was dressed like a woman who understood how great she looked. A confident woman, a woman on her way up. But her posture, her manner, made a lie of her clothes.
Stupid to notice her turned down lips, the hunch of her shoulders, the way she hesitated at the foot of the steps. Don’t ask! Not your problem. Don’t even wonder.
Coop, his lawyer and one of his oldest friends, had warned him not to let a woman’s need touch him. Nathan had to learn he couldn’t save the world. Coop continually reminded him that since the inheritance, he had more to lose. Nathan waited to see what his potential tenant decided as she stood, looking forlorn, hesitant, beaten down.
Would she walk up the steps and ring his bell? Or give in to whatever it was that made her hesitate? Her choice.
My biggest thanks and congratulations to the winners! And a huge, huge thank you to all who entered.
This book is coming out on Dec 19, but you can pre-order so you're one of the first readers! The Winterland Waltz A Dickens Holiday Romance

Love Lessons
The other day, my hubs and I reached a significant milestone in marriage. Long marriages may not be the bed of roses those elderly couples who get interviewed talk about. You know the ones where the little old lady gazes lovingly at her partner and they joke and chuckle about the good times. He teases her, she blushes, and the interview leaves everyone feeling joyful and hopeful that they’ll be there someday, too.
But, I’m here to say, long marriages survive. That’s it.
Survival depends on lots of things: patience, understanding, acceptance, and optimism to name a few.
Long marriages follow life’s path and the older a marriage grows, the more difficulties it has encountered. Deaths of parents, in-laws, siblings. Illnesses, accidents, financial setbacks, watching a partner go through challenging times without a magic wand to wave over them to fix things. These things are HARD.
But love can sustain a marriage. When we opened our cards the other day, they were eerily similar. Both talked about the ups and downs, about hanging in together, about what life brings. And then, oddly, I turned a page in my day planner and found this quote:
“Happiness is in the small stuff. It’s not in the big life-changing things. It’s in the every day. – Paul Dolan, Behavioural Scientist.
I believe this. (See the above about patience, understanding etc)
How to sustain a marriage? Be kind. Be thoughtful. Be helpful. Be faithful. This goes for both partners. And for pity’s sake, have a sense of humour!
Being these things will help love survive the challenges of life. This will bring you (major reasons for divorce notwithstanding) to decades-long survival. Date nights are very helpful, as are weekends away, if possible. Know that there’s an ebb and flow to marriage, just as there is in life.
These are the lessons I’ve learned in the 45 years I’ve been hitched to the man I chose.
In Not-So-Blue Christmas, I have a hero and heroine at different stages of grief after losing their long-term partners. They’d planned for long marriages, had fully expected to be one of those old happy couples.
But love comes around again sometimes, and Kirk and Miranda learn to take another chance, bringing all their experience to bear. This is one happy ending you don’t want to miss!

Fall into Love in September!
Fall into romance is our theme this month and boy—I started early. Back in the seventies I met and married my partner, my best friend and so far, so good. I think he’s a keeper, mostly because we enjoy the same shows. And he cooks. He also has a soft heart.
We had our anniversary last week and we celebrated with two of my favourite things: breakfast at a restaurant overlooking the ocean and later, dinner at a fabulous steakhouse. (Two meals out in one day blew my mind.)
On the writing front I started planning for this fall back in December 2020. I took a hard look at the upcoming year and realized I had four projects to write and publish through 2021.
Only one has been released so far. Which means the fall will be full of releases from me.
Expect to get tired of hearing about them. As I moved through the spring and summer, I began to sprint to get words down. The art of sprinting was a new idea for me. In a writer’s toolbox sprinting means setting a timer for a short period, say, fifteen or thirty minutes. During that time you write! Words. It doesn’t matter how few or how many, you simply focus on your book and put down words.
Many writers have daily wordcount goals and fret if they miss them. That no longer works for me. Now, I’m balancing too many other things in a day to push for a word goal. Sprinting works well for someone who’s working on two books at once. One is in the first draft stage, the other in edits. Taking a break between sprints on the different projects is best.
Right now I’m working on:
The Tinsel Tango: a revised, longer version of a novella that was in an anthology of Christmas stories last year. Available October 5!
Claiming Shandy Book 4 of Return to Welcome. People have waited far too long for this one, but I believe it’ll be worth the wait. Release date TBA
Fake Me A Last Chance Beach novel (August 15) People seem to like it, but I’d love more reviews if you’ve read it.
The Rumball Rumba A Dickens Holiday Romance will be out November 23!

New Release!
I'm so excited to share my newest book, Fake Me: Last Chance Beach Romance. This is the start of a new series within a multi-author romance line set in the small beach town of Last Chance Beach. My heroine wants to start a new matchmaking service for single parents and this is the first of the romances centered around her business: Singles Fest.
International real estate broker Grady O’Hara, unkempt, miserable, and nursing his battered heart, is holed up in the Landseer Motel in Last Chance Beach.
A first-class grump, Grady’s appalled that enthusiastic sprite, Farren Parks wants him to open his motel to single parents looking for love. He suspects his sister has sent Farren to lure him into a romance. Again. The last one ended in disaster.
Farren expects him to tolerate children laughing. No! Crowds of happy families? No!
He does not want a second chance at life. Or love.
Unless Farren agrees to fake date him to fake out his matchmaking sister…
Grady soon plays handyman, painter, and business advisor to Farren’s fledgling business, Singles Fest. The happy squeals of children in the pool doesn’t grate on his nerves as he expected. He sees parents making romantic connections that stir his heart.
But an old flame of Farren’s has arrived and Grady wakes up to another looming loss if Farren gives her first love a second chance. The rival has brought his adorable kids to the motel. A rival who’s clearly looking for a new wife…
I am definitely hoping people will read and review Fake Me...it's sweet, the language is gentle and the loving is behind closed doors.
