Hi Shaina,

Thank you for dropping by, and I'm glad you enjoyed the series! Currently I'm not planning to write any more books in it--I worked in the universe for close to five years and I felt in need of a break!
There are other authors working with Mesoamerican elements in SFF: the ones that come to mind are T.L Morganfield, who has written epic historical fantasy (The Bone Flower Throne & The Bone Flower Queen) as well as alternate history and romance; Marella Sands (Sky Knife and Serpent & Storm). In the mystery genre there is Simon Levacs, who writes the adventures of Yaotl, an emancipated slave in pre-Fall Tenochtitlan. Can I also recommend Miguel Leon-Portilla's The Language of Kings, which isn't genre per se, but is a great survey of indigenous literature from the 15th Century to the modern era? (and his "Broken Spears" is a masterful account of the conquest of Mexico seen through Mexica eyes).

Hope this helps?

“You leave behind your fine poems.
You leave behind your beautiful flowers. And the earth that was only leant to you. You ascend into the Light, O Quechomitl, you leave behind the flowers and the singing and the earth. Safe journey, O friend.”
Aliette de Bodard, Servant of the Underworld

“She says--because darkness needs to be faced, needs to be denied--"You would have given me so much, in exchange for me giving up everything.”
Aliette de Bodard, Fireheart Tiger

“We’ve discussed this before. Not just other people saying yes, but whether they mean it, or whether they’re just doing it because they’re afraid.”
