Richard Weyand and I decided we needed to number the books in chronological order so that when the series was complete, the numbering scheme would make sense. But after slamming out a whole trilogy in a few months, I needed a break -- I'm handicapped -- so Richard went ahead with the main line of the series while I unwind, blow off some steam, and get the creative juices flowing again. The Section Six Trilogy will be along next year, and will take place during the Reign of Trajan, but in the span that Richard isn't covering, so it won't affect anything he's writing.

I may or may not write a third trilogy in the EMPIRE series; part of that is going to depend on how Richard winds it up. Once he's got that done, he and I will sit down and discuss whether or not another trilogy is needed or not.(less)

Hogwarts would be fun; I'd want to learn all I could about magic. Or I could go to Middle-Earth and hang out in Imladris with Elrond and swap lore. I could visit the Lensman universe, or the Star Trek universe, or even my own Division One universe, and explore space. So many worlds, so little time!(less)

“A wise man does not always admit to everything he knows. And sometimes an overly-credulous friend can be a source of mild amusement.”
~Sherlock Holmes”
Stephanie Osborn, The Case of the Displaced Detective: The Arrival

“Night-time. Why is it, I wonder…
Always, always it is at night when
The fury of a hurricane makes itself felt.
Perhaps it is because the spirit of the storm
Delights in the darkness, for there it can
Unleash its rage most potently, most
Anonymously, upon the element of earth?
Or perhaps it is simply because we
Humans are afraid of the dark.”
Stephanie Osborn, Stolen Moments

“Sometimes you gotta say what's in your heart... And you have to stand for what you believe. No matter what."
~'Dr. Michael C. Anders,”
Stephanie Osborn, Burnout: The Mystery of Space Shuttle STS-281

“Wait awhile, and everything will change."
~'Griblich”
Stephanie Osborn, The More Things Change

“Imagine if you will, creatures as unlike us as it is possible to be; creatures whose technology dwarfed ours as we dwarf the ants. Creatures whose sole purpose was to wipe out all existing life on Earth and replace it with their own. Beings who did not know the meaning of mercy, who were uninterested in dialogue, with whom one could not even plead. That is what we were up against, Henry.”
Stephanie Osborn, The Bunker

“That’s our cue,” Dr. Chadwick noted, managing to approximate a cheerful smile, addressing the room at large. “Everyone please stand behind the yellow line until the doors open. No food, drink, flash photography, or video cameras are permitted. Once aboard the ride, please keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times until we come to a full and complete stop. Otherwise, they’re apt to end up in another universe somewhere without ya, and wouldn’t that fry your noggin?”
Stephanie Osborn, The Case of the Displaced Detective: The Arrival

“Suddenly the images in the center of the room became more than images. They solidified.”
Stephanie Osborn, The Case of the Displaced Detective: The Arrival
