My Auntie May was a happy-go-lucky Cockney, politically unaware and blissfully ignorant of her son-in-law’s standing in the Libyan regime. When she went to Libya, she had a good time. She thought nothing of having first to fly to Switzerland to get a connecting fligh Read more of this blog post »

Lady Hermione You will appreciate this; a school here put on Sweeney Todd for a school play.

They used real razors. Yes, real cut-throat razors with sharp blades. I imagine that you know where this is going.

On the first-and last as it turned out-night- two of the actors (Sweeney Todd's victims) had to be rushed to hospital with cut throats, seriously injured. They were both all right, thank Heaven, and discharged after not very long stays, but I imagine that the 'barber/s' will never be the same again-nor will the genius who decided that the real thing in razors would add verisimilitude. Which it did.

Some mothers really do 'ave 'em. Mrs Lovett's meat pie, anyone ?
