BAPTISM

A couple more reviews in for BAPTISM. The Peterborough Evening Telegraph says: "This thriller has more twists than a bagful of snakes – and as much bite...A must read." The Crime Fiction Lover web site describes it as "a novel of almost unbearable tension...audacious and ambitious" (4 stars). The latter review can be read in full here: http://bit.ly/MQtPQp.

I was interviewed on BBC Radio Oxford earlier on today (28th August) by Joe Thoenes. You can listen to it on iPlayer for the next week (the interview starts at 1hr 13mins) by following the link from my Facebook page:

Got to talk about all sorts of things mostly Baptism-related but also including (slightly randomly) my experience of getting run over when I was sixteen. Baptism by Max Kinnings

BAPTISM film teaser

All those of you who have read Baptism might be interested to see the first teaser trailer for the film:

http://maxkinnings.wordpress.com/2013...

There will be further extended trailers soon and we're hoping the full feature film will be shot in early 2014. Some further details about the experience of bringing Baptism to the screen can be read on my blog here:

Would love to hear what people think. Readers of Baptism might also be interested to hear that I've just delivered the follow-up, Sacrifice, which tells the story of another high concept hostage crisis for negotiator Ed Mallory. This will be out in November this year. I'll post further information about the book nearer to the release date.

BAPTISM extended trailer

Here's the extended spec trailer of Baptism. Eight minutes of guns, flares, explosions, tense nervous headaches, London skylines, lots of water - and yours truly getting shot in the head. Would love to hear what you think.

SACRIFICE: the first chapter

My new novel, Sacrifice, the second of a series that features blind hostage negotiator, Ed Mallory, is released by Quercus on November 7th in the UK. As a preview of the new book, you can read the first chapter via the link below. This is the first of three chapters that I’ll post prior to the release date.

Whereas Baptism concerns itself with religious fundamentalists hijacking a London Tube train, Sacrifice tells of the Christmas Day kidnapping of the Poynter family in their central London mansion by persons, very much, unknown. A disgraced hedge fund manager, Graham Poynter has good reason to want to hide away from the media and those anonymous forces ranged against him. But try as hard as he may to keep himself and his family out of the spotlight, there are some people who will stop at nothing to make sure that he pays for his crimes in the most public and brutal way imaginable.
