Marian is an avid fan of fantasy, science fiction, and horror books.

She started writing (in secret) novels in those genres when she was nine, and began adding a pinch of romance to her creations when the need for a Prince Charming hit her eventually.

Nowadays, her literary muse bugs her in the wee hours with steamy romance ideas combined with a hearty dose of humor. Armed with a glass of her favorite crème de menthe, Marian enjoys writing (no longer in secret) about sassy heroines and cinnamon roll heroes who discover new worlds – and love – together.

The world-building in this book blew me away! I felt transported to the alien colony alongside the FMC, and enjoyed every minute of the slow-burn romance. It was very realistic, which is something I haven't read in awhile in the sci-fi romance genre. ...more

“Miya could imagine what Therak’s appearance somewhere caused – and she wasn’t talking about excitement at seeing a sword-wielding naked Apollo. When Therak came for someone, it spelled death for them. Until her.

For Miya, he had brought death to anyone and anything standing in his way to her. When darkness had fallen, he had descended in its depths to rescue his sapphire and bring her back to the light.”
Marian Pattechat, When Darkness Falls

“Holding Cubbie firmly against his chest, Dargus went to stand by the head of the examination bed. Both he and the rabbisaurus peered down at the unconscious female.

Her lids snapped open. Two deep brown eyes stared up at him.

Cubbie chirruped excitedly. Dargus’ lips stretched into a tentative smile.

The Terran screamed.”
Marian Pattechat, Riding His Spaceship

“A sapphire is the most precious of gems on my homeworld.” Therak rested his forehead on hers. “You belong with me as one, sapphire. Merge with me. It is the will of the universe.”
Marian Pattechat, When Darkness Falls

“He leaned over the bar, further accentuating his bulging biceps and stretching his orange t-shirt taut over his broad chest. He lowered his voice to say conspiratorially, “You want to see my spaceship?”
