My husband was flipping through his Facebook posts when he found a friend request from an elderly gentleman from his hometown who had passed away a year earlier. The man had no friends and had left him a message. There’s more to that story (message me)...but that event spawned the premise.

Then--please don’t tell him--I based much of Keven off the adolescent comings and goings of my son and his friends and relatives.

As I mentioned in GREY KNIGHTS, the upcoming sequel to GREY MATTERS scheduled for release in September, we all create our own realities. I tend to gravitate to the idea that we are all infinite shards of a single whole, scattered across universes, seeking.

Some of the more chilling parts of the story--no spoilers here--were inspired by actual events.(less)
