I am a compulsive list maker.

This is how I came to do "World Wrecker".

I am an avid reader and have a goal of reading 10,000 books.

Several years ago I read an article that inspired me to try and read a book by a native author of every country in the World. The author of that article tried to do this in one year. I am doing this as an overall goal, not targeting a specific end date.

IRL I work in Information Technology. Specifically I am a systems administrator for mission critical systems for over 25 years.

This was put on by a local business man and friend of theirs that organized this.
Steve Haffner of Haffner Press, was there selling his EH and LB books and talking about his plans for the series.
I was there selling and talking about the Bibliography.
There was a film (I forget which), dealers, etc.
There were a couple of these done in other years, but they sometimes conflict with my schedule so I have not attended all.
The organizer is Don Sutton (He's also writing a biography of Mr. Hamilton - he tells some great stories about visiting them as a boy).(less)

2024

2024 has ended, and here is a snapshot of my year in reading.

This year is a little different that others. Usually I do try to only read one book by an author a year. So the author does not become “stale.” However, this year a book club I’m in read the first volume of Something is Killing the Children and I enjoyed it that I read the rest of the (published) series.
