Hello, I read a lot. I love books in all their forms: spoken, written and drawn. However, I've not written any books myself -- my 'author' status is for narrating other people's books, mostly at LibriVox. :)

Here's how my reading rating system currently works:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - I adore this book and will recommend it at the slightest opportunity

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - this is a great read and worth your time unless your book taste is miles different to mine

⭐⭐⭐ - this is a solid read, didn't send me to the giddy heights of more stars, but that's okay

⭐⭐ - I had a problem with this book, it really wasn't for me

⭐ - I seriously disliked this book and the author is dead,
OR I disliked this book so completely that I'm going to overri

Lovely second chance romance, though I enjoyed it as a comfort read more than the plot making relatable sense.

It's a single POV story, and Sam is an entertaining character to be in the head of: he's devoted to his family-run deli, his small but dedic

Cosy academic fieldwork story, set in the rustic inn of the title, that I liked but didn't love.

Entertainingly dramatic story of one family handling the end of the world.

I had such a good time reading this! Each character is vividly brought to life and has their own voice and drama, and then the family dynamics are fascinating too. Our main ch

Another one that's gonna divide readers, I think!

On the one hand, a genuine "enemies to allies to lovers" cosy story, with a lot of silliness, our POV MC being adorably bone-headed, and a typical romance arc.

On the other hand, my kingdom for an auth

Although this uses a fairytale theme, it does become a creation of its own, well-grounded in the magical gardens and mysterious house. Main character Ethan is a nice guy to read about

“Little houses, bigger ones, scrolled and capacious porches, dark windows, leaves of trees already rich with May, homes of rooms which chambered sleep as honey is cherished, drifted past their slow walking and were left behind, and not a light in any home.”
James Agee, A Death in the Family

Elizabeth Bishop
“Close, close all night
the lovers keep.
They turn together
in their sleep,

Close as two pages
in a book
that read each other
in the dark.

Each knows all
the other knows,
learned by heart
from head to toes.”
Elizabeth Bishop, Edgar Allan Poe & The Juke-Box: Uncollected Poems, Drafts, and Fragments

Zack Schoppen
“So what's a nurse? [...]
Basically someone who does all the work of helping people without any of the credit.”
Zack Schoppen, The Midwizard of Cosconia

Isabel J. Kim
“Artificial or not, the knowledge of existing borders delineates the world. They are a social technology that creates emotional reality, that creates physical reality.”
