Andrea Renae is the award-winning author of Where Darkness Dwells and There Bleeds the Light, the first two books in the Song of the Solas trilogy.

Though she's usually writes fantastical worlds with familiar feels, she can't resist a swoony, sweet romance (with aching themes, of course) once in a while. A lover of cool temperatures, Earl Grey tea, and cheese toast, she prefers home to all other places in the world.

Andrea's a hopeless romantic who always seeks to make everything from written words to baked goods as beautiful as possible. The Canadian prairies may have her heart, but Jesus has her soul.

I laughed, cried, and gasped my way through this brilliant debut. Lawrence has an amazing way of crafting characters who are complex and completely endearing. I felt like I knew Alex’s heart, and by the end of the book, I was a sobbing, ha

"A cozy collection of funny, charming, moving, and poignant pieces. It was so much fun to write one of these stories, but the best part was reading the rest! I was captivated by so many of the voices and characters (I’m still thinking about Pieces of " Read more of this review »

I loved certain aspects but didn’t love others. Parts of it made me tear up, parts of it felt like a manual on scientific process with a heavy emphasis on evolution. The MC voice was engaging and unique, and I really did love Rocky!

"What a fantastic surprising read. The premise didn’t stand out, but I saw an author recommend this book and took a chance. It. Was. Fantastic! I loved the way it was written--with flashbacks to childhood. The precious friendship between the cousins w" Read more of this review »

“Before I understand what I am doing, silent words pour out in a torrent of prayer. Oh, how long my spirit has been bound by bitterness.
But now, a ray of mercy has pierced the hidden dungeon of my soul. My griefs drain away, and hope fills the void. Words of confession become whispers of praise. As my feet move through the streets of Utsanek,
I exchange guilt for forgiveness, resentment for thanksgiving, turmoil for peace.”
Andrea Renae, Where Darkness Dwells

“All I am left with are these memories, clinging to my thoughts like spiderwebs. One careless breath, and a strand snaps. Tiny threads, nothing to them, yet enough to hold the weight of my world.”
Andrea Renae, Where Darkness Dwells

“Something in me is always surprised Rhun is no longer here. It's like the root suckers that spring up long after the tree is taken out. They appear at such random intervals, ages after the giant has been cut down. You can make yourself forget it happened for a while by snipping them off, but they will keep coming - an untimely reminder that something big is missing in your life. And the pain will start afresh.”
Andrea Renae, Where Darkness Dwells

“Elyōn will always shine light in our hearts, but people tend to lose their faith when darkness is all they see.”

“Will killing the light truly free us from the darkness?”
Andrea Renae, Where Darkness Dwells

“What true strength can there be in a power that blinds, that demands death?”
Andrea Renae, Where Darkness Dwells

“Even in your darkest moment, you are not alone.”
