Groove is in the heart

I pretty much lost a whole day today. Such is the fate of the migraineur- but I'm a survivor, not a victim, or some other such horseshit. Regardless, it's good news all around.

That's right! My novel 10 A BOOT STOMPING 20 A HUMAN FACE 30 GOTO 10, from Aussie publisher LegumeMan Books, is out. The preorder special went great! There are about sixteen people who have enslaved themselves to this project- by buying the book preorder, they will not only get an autographed and potentially obscenely defaced copy, they will also get a song written for and named after them on a forthcoming soundtrack album. Here's a taste:

Logan Calhoun

And, while the art hasn't made its way up yet, the Amazon link is viable. Check it out here, and please buy a copy!

Lord of this world

Well, if this blog post were tea it would be Morning Thunder.

I've mentioned the forthcoming "Antipaladin Blues"- it's been a longtime coming, and obviously February is almost gone without it appearing. Looks like it will be April. But, it's going to have reached terminal velocity by then, so no worries.

In further excellent news, my 3-day Novel, "10 A BOOT STOMPING 20 A HUMAN FACE 30 GOTO 10" did not win the contest. Why excellent, you say? Because now it has been picked up by the fancy Australian publisher LegumeMan Press, who put out the amazing Archelon Ranch. This is the best thing I've ever written, and you are going to love it. And by love it, I mean buy it.

So, while everything else in life continues apace, I discovered that I found a great title for a Bizarro pulpy kungfu/adventurer story... "1000 Points Of Death." Jordan Krall doesn't want it, so I'll begin work on it soon. And as I recall, I have something blocked out already that should serve as an intro.

Thanks to Christy Leigh Stewartfor starting the Marginal literary movement, by the way. Some interesting things are going to come out it. Just wait. Your black magic will never be the same.

News for 2010.

Well, I am not sure how best to say this but SHIT IS BLOWIN' UP. Of course, the release of "Antipaladin Blues" is right around the corner in February, and the art for it, by Nick Rose and Jesse Lindsay, is amazing. I'm not set up for preorders yet, but I have to say that I have an amazing preorder surprise... not exactly a hand-knitted scarf or a deep-tissue massage, but potentially wayyyy cooler. Definitely way cooler. Details very soon. There are also some other crazy things happening for the release. Is Evil Nerd Empire just the most badass weird publishing house or what?

In other writing news, by some magical luck I have managed to score a couple of minor paying gigs, one in the music biz and one in fashion, and to be more specific the local rock scene and the London perfume industry. Crazy.

That's pretty much it. Don't forget to keep your fingers crossed for me on the 3-day Novel Contest. I did write the best novel, so let's hope they figure that out...
