He currently resides near Kamloops BC where he keeps bees on the family farm, works as an Inventory Analyst, and does his best to keep up to his dog Duke. When we read a story set in any fictional universe, it is always through the lens of the characters who generally become embroiled in some sort of strife or conflict without which the story wouldn't be very good. This leads to a very dystopian view of a lot of the worlds we learn about. As much as I love them, worlds like Herbert's Dune, Rowling's Potter universe, and the grimdark future of the Warhammer 40,000 Black Library would not be fun places to visit in a real sense. At least not for me.
I think if I HAD to pick something... I would want to visit Tolkien's Middle Earth. BUT I would want to hang out in the Shire. Soak up some wonderful hospitality of the hobbits. I hear they make exceptional ale.(less)

“Write with the door closed, rewrite with the door open. Your stuff starts out being just for you, in other words, but then it goes out. Once you know what the story is and get it right — as right as you can, anyway — it belongs to anyone who wants to read it. Or criticize it.”
