First and foremost, writing has helped me to convey on paper what I was only able to speak of before. It helped me academically, with writing clearer, more concise reports, essays and the like.

It also served as a therapeutic medium, getting things out of my head and onto paper, so I wouldn't bog myself down with life's trivialities, so that I could focus on more important matters.

As a result, I became more aware of my voice, and continued mastering the craft, being sure to raise the bar each and every time I wrote a piece. Before I knew it, I always seemed to improve where needed, and had more than enough pieces with which to put a book together. Seeing the book in print, in addition to online (sometimes including eBooks), it gave and still gives me a great sense of accomplishment.
