Faith to Thrive
October 19, 2025 – 10/19/2025
10 – Perfect Order
19 – Faith
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. Luke 10:19 NLT
Faith to Thrive
There is a great difference between self-preservation and overcoming. It’s the difference between the wilderness and the Promised Land. A survivor is someone who suffers a terrible attack and lives to tell about it.

In the Kingdom of God, that’s not good enough. An overcomer is someone who suffers a terrible attack, then rises up and defeats his attacker. Survivors are victims. Overcomers are victorious. Survivors have wounds. Overcomers have scars, like Jesus.

Survivors are peacekeepers – think United Nations Peacekeeping Forces – basically useless. Overcomers are peace makers – think the six-chambered pistol Samuel Colt forged that was used to bring justice and order to a lawless land.

You see, survivors go through the fire, then live life in constant reference to how they were burned. Overcomers go through the fire, and don’t even have the smell of smoke on their clothes – think Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego walking with the Angel of God in the fiery furnace.

Nebuchadnezzar spoke, saying, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, who sent His Angel and delivered His servants who trusted in Him, and they have frustrated the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they should not serve nor worship any god except their own God!” – Daniel 3:28

Were they concerned about their own survival? If they were, they would have bowed down to the golden statue of Nebuchadnezzar. Instead, they refused to worship a false god. They honored the one true God by showing their evil king who the real boss was.

Yes, there is a big difference between survivors and overcomers. However, the biggest difference is in reward. In the Kingdom of God, survivors don’t inherit the promises. Overcomers do.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Faith to Thrive

Yes, there is a big difference between survivors and overcomers. However, the biggest difference is in reward. In the Kingdom of God, survivors don’t inherit the promises. Overcomers do.
Grounded in FaithDeclare!Jesus went to the cross and paid the price for all sin so I could live free and victorious. I was not saved to merely survive – I was saved to overcome everything and thrive. My life is abundantly filled with good things because He loves me.

True Abundance
October 18, 2025 – 10/18/2025
10 – Perfect Order
18 – Life More Abundantly (+) The Bondage of Sin (-)
No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded.” John 10:18 NLT
True Abundance
When I was a kid, I was a comic book freak. If the stories were stupid, there was always a great full-page ad to spark my imagination. Oh, how I wanted the sea monkeys, a hovercraft, and the little machines you could use to make counterfeit money. Charles Atlas wanted to beef me up to take on the bully with his 15-minute trainer. However, the one wonder I couldn’t resist was the X-ray glasses.

These specs were advertised to help a young man full of testosterone see past all types of barriers. I wondered why everyone didn’t have a pair, but quickly came to the conclusion it was because I was a visionary genius.

So, in 1979, I saved up a whopping $1.99 for my x-ray glasses and another $5 for shipping and handling. I also dedicated the next six weeks of my life to checking the mailbox each and every day to see if they’d arrived.

After what seemed like an eternity, I got a very small package in the mail. Inside was a very lame pair of cardboard glasses. I was crushed. It was a scam. Who knew? I felt so cheated and stupid. It was my first taste of a dishonest world full of cheating schemes.

Thanks to the father of lies, our world is filled with scams, con artists, and just plain lies. Where do I run where I know I’ll never get ripped off or disappointed? Jesus.

You see, the proof of authenticity is not just in the book, it’s in the lives of all of us – believers who love the Lord and serve His people. We see miracles, live beyond what is reasonable, and shoot for limitless possibilities. We love beyond our capacity and live beyond our means. We choose to be battleships instead of cruise ships. Force For Overcoming
October 17, 2025 – 10/17/2025
10 – Perfect Order
17 – Overcoming Victory
When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!” Luke 10:17 NLT
Force for Overcoming
The power of upgrade moves you from the cheap seats to box seats in a given area of your life. This is in direct proportion to your willingness to move forward. The key to upgrade is when God grants you a breakthrough, you must be prepared to go to the next level again and again and again without stopping. The Kingdom is not for people who fear change and pine for the good old days. The Kingdom of God is transformational, and so are the people who go through it with momentum.

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12

If you’re not sure what Jesus was saying in this text, maybe this newer translation will help you sink your teeth into it: “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it.” Matthew 11:12

Be forceful! Go after that thing you want for the Kingdom.

Do you want to start a new ministry? Take that first step. Are you hoping to adopt a child or start an orphanage? Go for it! Are you looking to start a new business venture to make money to give to missions? Jump right in! Have a heart for the homeless? Follow that vision! BE INTENTIONAL!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Love Brings True Justice
October 16, 2025 – 10/16/2025
10 – Perfect Order
16 – The Love of God
“This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Hebrews 10:16 NLT
Love Brings True Justice
If you’re talking to snakes, I have this advice for you. Stop it! Why? Because the voices in your head telling you to say this, do that, or turning you paranoid against people who love you, are the voice of the enemy himself.

You know what I’m talking about. When you relive past hurts by practicing a conversation you really shouldn’t have. Why am I telling you not to get some of your own back – a little revenge to get even for wrongs committed against you?

Because they don’t belong to you! They belong to God. Your Father is in charge of handling the people and situations that lay you low, not you. Vengeance belongs to the Lord. He will battle for you.

Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. – Romans 12:19

You see, the Father is uniquely equipped to bring the weapon of redemption onto the battlefield. When redemption is applied to the situation, revenge becomes justice! Isn’t that awesome? Justice is when the poor have opportunity and the widow has security. Justice is when the orphan has a name.

The Bible tells us the devil is a liar and a thief. He loves to steal your job, security, relationships, opportunities, reputation, and your territory for the Lord. If he can take your ministry, your friends, or your family, he’s got you on the ropes.

Cry out to your Father, the righteous judge, for justice. He can return what the thief stole and bring truth where lies once ruled the day. Let Him fight for you because the reward is justice: restoration – getting back what was taken – and restitution – getting compensation above and beyond the offense!

Call on a just God today and keep calling until He renders judgment in your favor.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Warrior Walk
October 15, 2025 – 10/15/2025
10 – Perfect Order
15 – Rest & Overcoming Death
And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” Romans 10:15 NLT
Warrior Walk
For my dad’s 66th birthday, I took him on a 500-mile tour of historic Texas battlefields. We went to the old Coleman house, where Elizabeth Coleman and her oldest son were killed by 300 raiding Comanches. We saw the battle site at Brushy Creek, walked the hallowed ground of the Alamo, and breathed in the sweet smell of freedom at San Jacinto. Washington on the Brazos and San Fillip also made the list.

I dubbed our tour “The Way of the Warrior.” You see, my love of battlefields isn’t just from my Brewer blood. It’s also from the bloodline of Jesus. Jesus is a king. But make no mistake – He is a warrior king!

– We are not spectators. We are warriors. We don’t listen to stories of God’s power. We tell them.

– Comfort kills! Jesus says He’s sending us out as lambs among wolves, not potatoes upon couches. We are not on vacation, and life is not a perpetual spa experience.

– We are called to be peace-makers, not peace-keepers. UN peacekeeping forces have stood by and watched the slaughter of millions. I would rather be a Texas Ranger. The Rangers used pistols called peace makers – they didn’t make deals with monsters or negotiate with the enemy. They put the enemy down!

We do not have to be defeated by a defeated devil. We can discourage him by our faith, demoralize him with our joy, and depress him with our endurance. What you might not realize is that there is more victory attached to you than you can even imagine. Pull on your boots and take a step on the warrior way!

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

His Good is Great
Let’s get this out in the open – I don’t want your house. I don’t want your woman, your anointing, your ministry, your connections or your relationships. Perfect Conforming
October 12, 2025 – 10/12/2025
10 – Perfect Order
12 – Perfect Government
For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. Hebrews 12:10 NLT
Perfect Conforming
Forfeiting your upgrade because you refuse to conform your life to match God’s will is a huge mistake, and one that many of us make without ever realizing it. Look at King Saul. He disobeyed a clear and direct order from God so he could do things his way. It cost him everything!

Know this: Forward is not in the confines of what we are used to. Forward needs to be learned, pursued, and conformed to. Moving forward after kingdom upgrade requires you to work with teams when you’re naturally a lone wolf individualist. It requires you to go through some things alone when you wish you could party with your friends.

Better will require you to lay down what you think is a big deal and prioritize what you haven’t really cared about before. You may have to lay down something you’ve always considered precious – relationships, mindsets, and habits which are holding you back from fully following Jesus. You know what they are, so write them down.

If you are going to move forward and advance into upgrade, God says you have to be “that guy.” In fact, He says you already are that guy! You just have to chisel away the parts that don’t look like Him!

Take that list and lay down the things keeping you from reaching your purpose. When you do, it’s called wisdom. It’s what Saul rejected and Solomon asked for. Wisdom is a huge part of your ongoing move into better, so be wise. Get rid of the foolish things in your life.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

It causes ratings to skyrocket during disasters and scandals, and the tabloid racks to empty when a celebrity gets divorced or when a grandfather decides to become a female sex object.

Perfect New Order
October 10, 2025 – 10/10/2025
10 – Perfect Order
10 – Perfect Order
The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
John 10:10 NLT
Perfect New Order
I love food, but would I want to eat the same thing every day for 40 years? Not really. For 40 years, the children of Israel didn’t eat anything but manna and quail. They all got tired of it. They grumbled, but they ate. For 40 years. Yikes! It took them a long time to learn to trust God. Once they understood, the first thing they did when they got to the Promised Land, was to raid someone’s garden.

“And the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten some of the produce of the land, so that the Israelites no longer had manna….” Joshua 5:12

The manna ceased. Can you imagine that for 40 years, there was a certain way something worked? For 40 years, you had something to count on – it was there every time? I wonder what they thought when they woke up and there was no manna on the ground. Maybe they thought it would come back tomorrow, but it didn’t. God just said, “Switch!” He’ll do that with you, you know. If you’re going to leave the old thing, God says, “Behold, I do a new thing. Can you wrap your head around it?”

With every new upgrade comes a whole new way of relating to God, of experiencing Him – of Him providing for you, and speaking to you. Are you going to rely on your methods or are you going to rely on Jesus? If you rely on your methods, you’ll go back to the wilderness to relearn that lesson. I don’t want a trap door to fall out from under me! I don’t want to fall back into the wilderness. If that’s you, get with the program! God will change your thinking, job, friends, church, and even the place you live to get you on the same page as Him. Embrace the big switch! It’s your gateway to the Promised Land.

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Are you going to rely on your methods or are you going to rely on Jesus? If you rely on your methods, you’ll go back to the wilderness to relearn that lesson. I don’t want a trap door to fall out from under me! I don’t want to fall back into the wilderness. If that’s you, get with the program! God will change your thinking, job, friends, church, and even the place you live to get you on the same page as Him. Embrace the big switch! It’s your gateway to the Promised Land.
Grounded in FaithDeclare!I love that my God is a creator and that He brings new, wonderful situations and ways of doing things into my life. I never worry about having what I need because He has always been faithful. I stay open to different ways so I don’t miss a thing He has for me.
