Perfect Conforming

Steeped in the Word

October 12, 2025 – 10/12/2025

10 – Perfect Order

12 – Perfect Government

For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. Hebrews 12:10 NLT

Perfect Conforming

Forfeiting your upgrade because you refuse to conform your life to match God’s will is a huge mistake, and one that many of us make without ever realizing it. Look at King Saul. He disobeyed a clear and direct order from God so he could do things his way. It cost him everything!

Know this: Forward is not in the confines of what we are used to. Forward needs to be learned, pursued, and conformed to. Moving forward after kingdom upgrade requires you to work with teams when you’re naturally a lone wolf individualist. It requires you to go through some things alone when you wish you could party with your friends.

Better will require you to lay down what you think is a big deal and prioritize what you haven’t really cared about before. You may have to lay down something you’ve always considered precious – relationships, mindsets, and habits which are holding you back from fully following Jesus. You know what they are, so write them down.

If you are going to move forward and advance into upgrade, God says you have to be “that guy.” In fact, He says you already are that guy! You just have to chisel away the parts that don’t look like Him!

Take that list and lay down the things keeping you from reaching your purpose. When you do, it’s called wisdom. It’s what Saul rejected and Solomon asked for. Wisdom is a huge part of your ongoing move into better, so be wise. Get rid of the foolish things in your life.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Jesus-driven thinking helps and heals. This is what the Bible has to say on the subject: For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. – Romans 8:6

The Cherokee nation knew it, too. Check out this spot-on tribal tale:

An old Cherokee chief was teaching his grandson about life. He told the boy, “A terrible fight is going on inside me. It is a fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil. He is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and self-doubt."

The old man continued: “The other wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith.” He then told the boy, “This same fight is going on inside you and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute, then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The wise old chief replied, “The one you feed.”

What wolf have you been feeding? Just know the wolf of evil thoughts will eventually devour you, and likely others as well. Thoughts become actions, and there is always collateral damage.

That’s not you! You can control your thought life and ensure the evil wolf starves to death.
et_pb_blurb"}">Perfect Conforming

Grounded in FaithDeclare!

Being closer to the Lord is the most important thing in my life. I can move forward, be better, have greater abundance and peace only when I follow the ways of Jesus. Laying down everything that tries to pull me away empowers me to live fully in the Kingdom so my life looks more like Heaven than it does like hell.
