Recognizing our Veterans and Fallen Heroes

Boyd Thomas London was very saddened, yet proud, to hear the story of Staff Sgt. Robert Miller.

In a special ceremony on Wednesday that mixed emotions and pride, President Barack Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to the young Army Green Beret who saved his patrol by holding off a Taliban ambush in a snowy Afghan valley two winters ago. Tragically, Staff Sgt Robert Miller was killed during the attack. He was 24 years old.

Boyd is an author who served four years in the Air Force. We have the finest military the world has ever known, and Staff Sgt. Robert Miller, Boyd and all of those who have served or who are serving in our nation’s military are prepared to give their lives for our country. Boyd expresses his condolences to Robert’s family.

Boyd spent four months in Saudi Arabia helping to support Operation Southern Watch, and he learned that he is very grateful to live in the United States. Boyd wants us to always pay tribute to Staff Sgt. Robert Miller and to everyone who serves our great nation in the United States Armed Forces. We need to recognize our veterans and fallen heroes.

Boyd Thomas London’s novels, Creeton and Dream Wanderer, are now featured in an author interview at http://yabookreads.com in Scotland. Boyd has a photo album on iFOGO Village at http://ifogovillage.ning.com/profile/.... Boyd’s books, Creeton and Dream Wanderer, are now available for $7.95 at http://www.publishamerica.com, and they ship them internationally.

Remembering Jack London

The famous author, Jack London, was Boyd Thomas London’s distant cousin. Sadly, Jack London died on November 22, 1916. He was only 40 years old. Jack London was an outstanding writer. He had his own ship, and Jack wrote a book about his sailing adventures. Boyd Thomas London, a distant cousin of Jack London, remembers Jack in his recent author interview at http://yabookreads.com. This new fantastic book website is in Scotland. Boyd wishes that Jack London was alive today to read his novels and to help him as a writer. Boyd’s books, Creeton and Dream Wanderer, are now available in a paperback version for $7.95 at http://publishamerica.com. Entering Creeton or Dream Wanderer at the online bookstore brings up the new paperback. The paperback is a large, impressive looking book. Boyd believes that Jack London would be very proud to see a relative writing novels and remembering his great, but short-lived life.

Jack London Would Marvel as the World Wide Web Brings Together Authors and Readers

Jack London was Boyd Thomas London’s distant cousin. Jack London would marvel at the World Wide Web, which is a writer’s dream. It allows writers to tell their own personal stories, and to state the impact their books are making on the world. Many newspapers printed articles on Jack London, but he did not have the opportunity to have his own personal web pages on author websites such as http://ifogovillage.ning.com and http://www.authorsden.com while he was alive.

If Jack London had a webpage on AuthorsDen or iFOGO Village, it might begin with his Credo:

I would rather be ashes than dust!
I would rather that my spark should burn out
in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.
I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom
of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet.
The function of man is to live, not to exist.
I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.
I shall use my time. ~Jack London

The internet helps to bring authors and readers together, and http://ifogovillage.ning.com, and http://www.authorsden.com are two remarkable websites for anyone to visit who wants to read blogs, see pictures, and read life stories about authors. Jack London’s cousin, Boyd Thomas London, is listed on both websites, and he has a photo album displayed on http://ifogovillage.ning.com. Boyd’s books, Creeton and Dream Wanderer, are now available, for $7.95, at http://www.publishamerica.com. Boyd has an acknowledgement page dedicated to Jack London in his novel Dream Wanderer.

Boyd Thomas London wishes that Jack London could experience being an author on today’s internet. Jack London would marvel as the World Wide Web brings together authors and readers.

Advances in computer technology and the Internet have changed the way America works, learns, and communicates. The Internet has become an integral part of America's economic, political, and social life. ~Bill Clinton

Finding Happiness as a Writer

I have heard that life experiences and memoirs are popular today. A month ago, I was asked by my publishing company to write my autobiography. I had never considered writing about my own life. I had to ask myself if I have had life experiences that would be inspiring, and interesting. What have I done or experienced that others might benefit from that I could share about in a book?

I thought about my life, and I have always found happiness, even through the tough times. I had great times as I was growing up and in high school, while I was in the Air Force, as I was attending college, and while writing my two published novels and the three others that I am currently working on. Thus, I named my autobiography: Finding Happiness. I am having a terrific time writing it. I am elated!

As writers, we need to take time to enjoy what we do. I have found gratification as a writer, not only when I get taken away from this world to other places, as I write, but also with promoting my books through newspapers and the interviews, and when getting to talk to many positive people about my books and about life while signing books. I am glad that I am a writer, and I hope that every writer, even those who are deciding to write their first novels, can take some time to think about and to enjoy all that they have done and have accomplished. Even though life can get very hectic and challenging at times, there are always ways to find contentment, and I have found much happiness as a writer.

Remembering September 11, 2001

“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve. America was targeted for attack because we are the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.”
President George W. Bush

September 11th is Saturday. It is a time to remember the terrorists’ attacks on September 11, 2001. Boyd Thomas London remembers that tragic day every time he sees his novel Creeton. In the post-9-11 fallout, many people were frightened, and many people sought the answers of 'who is to blame?' and 'what can we do?' Boyd, looked to the future, and saw there a hope. He wrote his novel Creeton inspired toward peace, and Creeton has an acknowledgement page dedicated to all of those who died or were injured in the horrific tragedy. Boyd dreams for our world to have a peaceful future, and his emotionally charged novel depicts a tale of how this could happen. Creeton is now available in a large, paperback version for $7.95 at http://publishamerica.com. A good place to read more is at http://www.authorsden.com, under Boyd Thomas London.
