Finding Happiness as a Writer

I have heard that life experiences and memoirs are popular today. A month ago, I was asked by my publishing company to write my autobiography. I had never considered writing about my own life. I had to ask myself if I have had life experiences that would be inspiring, and interesting. What have I done or experienced that others might benefit from that I could share about in a book?

I thought about my life, and I have always found happiness, even through the tough times. I had great times as I was growing up and in high school, while I was in the Air Force, as I was attending college, and while writing my two published novels and the three others that I am currently working on. Thus, I named my autobiography: Finding Happiness. I am having a terrific time writing it. I am elated!

As writers, we need to take time to enjoy what we do. I have found gratification as a writer, not only when I get taken away from this world to other places, as I write, but also with promoting my books through newspapers and the interviews, and when getting to talk to many positive people about my books and about life while signing books. I am glad that I am a writer, and I hope that every writer, even those who are deciding to write their first novels, can take some time to think about and to enjoy all that they have done and have accomplished. Even though life can get very hectic and challenging at times, there are always ways to find contentment, and I have found much happiness as a writer.
