I'm on FaceBook now!

I finally got around to creating a FaceBook page. Yay! Thank heavens the technology required is simple enough for people like me to figure out.

Passion Fish Trailer!!

Oh. My. Word!!

Omnific Publishing has created a book trailer (kind of like a movie trailer) for Passion Fish and it is AWESOME! The video is wonderful, giving insight as to the title of the book and the premise of the story. The music, though, is simply intoxicating -- it's sexy, intriguing, and mysterious all at the same time!

Go to www.omnificpublishing.com and on the home page you can click on the YouTube link. You'll find the fantastically amazing trailers for Passion Fish and three other Omnific books.

So very cool!!

Next Novel In Progress

Jessica and I have exchanged copies of Passion Fish so we can give all four away signed by both of us. I'm looking forward to finding out who the winners are!

Meanwhile, I just got back from a week in Oregon, where my next novel takes place (3100 miles from my home in Florida). I took lots of pictures, made a bunch of notes, and got more writing done. I'm hoping to have it ready for editing by late summer, if not sooner.

Something a Stranger Wouldn't Know If You Didn't Tell...

It's been neat to read people's response to my question, but I realized it wasn't quite fair that I didn't start by sharing something about ME, so here are my three basics that I share with my students every semester:

1. I can read 'grade 1' Braille (alphabet and numbers, a few abbreviations). I have a Braille slate that I can write Braille -- it's a slow process but it works!

2. I touched the car that Bonnie and Clyde died in.

3. I was born with a club foot and had a cast on my leg the first year of my life.

Keep sharing things -- I find this question makes us realize we ALL have something unique about ourselves.

Getting My Name Out There...

I'm now looking into what it takes to do a book signing in Tampa at a Books-a-million. The manager I spoke to today was very kind and gave me all the paperwork I need. If you live in the area, keep checking my blog to see how that's coming along!

I'm also going to help present a 'So You Want to be a Writer' workshop with a friend who has published three Christian self-help books.

Day by day, friends and acquaintances are learning that I'm now a published author.

Be sure to visit my Web site www.alisonoburia.com. Passion Fish's co-author is Jessica McQuinn -- be sure to visit her site too at www.jessicamcquinn.com.

Book Signing

So far, I've only seen the print version of Passion Fish once -- I ordered it for my mom. She was the recipient of my very first signature (something only moms can appreciate).

I'm hoping to try out some book signings, though. If anyone lives in Central Florida and has a book club that would want little ol' me to visit, just let me know! I live in Tampa and will travel within reason. I'll sign Passion Fish and/or the Valentine Anthology for anyone who is kind enough to purchase it.
