Robert Laird has been SCUBA diving since 1976, is a dive master, worked as a boat dive master on the Fling/ Spree to the Flower Gardens, and has been cave diving since 1994. Trained in Florida in both cave diving and Trimix diving, he has participated in a variety of exploration projects in Missouri, Arkansas, and connected cenotes on Cozumel and the Bahamas, and is an early explorer of Goodenough Springs in West Texas. In 1999, along with Henry Nicholson, Mr. Laird co-founded the IUCRR (International Underwater Cave Rescue/ Recovery), a worldwide, not-for-profit educational and public service organization.
