Author Talk and Book Signing
I'm honored to be speaking at the Belden Cromwell Library on Thursday, March 7 at 6:30. My talk is usually called "One Voice Led to Another," because when I had to retire from singing for health reasons, I turned to writing. Crestmont was born. The irony is that I have returned to singing, I am happy to say. Does that mean I should name the talk "One Voice Led to Another and Another"?
Here is a nice press release the library sent out.

New Memoir in Progress
I am co-authoring a memoir entitled
"Makayla's Heart: Moment by Moment with Dell Hyssong.
Three days after Dell Hyssong’s granddaughter, Makayla, was born the doctors told the family she wouldn’t survive. The Hyssongs were stunned to learn that she had multiple tumors in her heart, one blocking the aorta 75%. Dell tells the story from his viewpoint as Makayla’s grandfather. I am the writer.
Given this diagnosis, The Hyssongs, a renowned singing trio of Dell, his wife, Susan, and their son, Richard (Makayla’s father) had to decide whether or not to continue their extensive traveling music ministry. The book chronicles their journey through four years subsequent to her diagnosis. If Makayla survived, would she be a special needs child? Would they have the money to cover exorbitant medical costs? How did their faith in God carry them through? In addition to examining their journey through this crisis, the book is peppered with the humor, which is a trademark of their onstage persona.
Expected publication April 2015
