Louise was born in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She began to write short stories in high school and continued to write in college. She married a philosophy student, and they moved to Ohio, where she obtained a Masters degree and taught freshman English. Her husband became a Philosophy Professor at the University of Maryland. She and her husband had two children. While staying at home with her son and daughter she began to write in earnest. Those first efforts remain unsold.

The family moved to Maryland, where she joined a literary critique group. There she wrote a collaborative effort with three other women, Ruth Glick, Carolyn Males and Eileen Buckholtz. The result was a romance novel, "Love is Elected", was published by Silhouette Books under t ...more

What’s in a Name?

Writing novels can be more confusing than you might think. Before I retired from the stress of contracts and deadlines and started writing and publishing mystery novels at my leisure (thanks Amazon), I had a lot of pen names. I wrote romance novels for Dell as Anne Silverlock and collaborated as Alexis Hill Jordan. I also collaborated as Claire Richards and wrote for Harlequin as Jane Silverwood.

Hi everybody, I'm trying to figure out the delightful complexities of Goodreads and hoping to introduce my new historical mystery, Hard Water, to the group. I'm looking for reviews and would be glad to reciprocate. Anyone who likes the sound of a mystery set in 1884 on the midwestern paradise island of Put-in-Bay I would be glad to provide a pdf galley. Oliver Redcastle, the book's protagonist, is an ex Union Civil War sharpshooter and ex-Pinkerton operative. Thanks, Louise
