La novela habla del cansancio de vivir entre dos orillas y de las partes de uno mismo que se quedan atrás con tal de ser aceptado. Su autor conoce lo que significa cruzar fronteras visibles y también esas fronteras silenciosas que nadie nombra, y desde ahí retrata la soledad del exilio, no un exilio marcado por la distancia, sino ese que se instala en el pecho. A través de personajes marcados por el desarraigo, la tristeza callada y los rechazos disfrazados de cortesía, muestra cómo el deseo profundo de pertenecer puede convertirse en una herida que no termina de sanar.
El libro revela la crueldad sutil de ser visto como diferente. Aprendes a medir tus palabras y a acomodarte en espacios que no fueron hechos para ti, mientras algo dentro de ti se dobla un poco más.
