Ad Astra!

Sadly I won't be able to make it to tonight's (Friday April 13) panel on introversion, although there were such nice chewy things I wanted to say. I'm an introvert, and it's Friday the 13th and all, so I thought it safer to stay home. No, just kidding, it was a transportation snafu. I'll be at the group autograph session tomorrow 1-3 towards the end, and on Sunday morning I'll be in the Writing Groups panel with Suzanne Church and Matt Moore. Looking forward!

SFContario Appearance Nov. 30, 2013

This weekend I'll be in Toronto, on a couple of panels at SFContario

It all happens at The Ramada Inn on Jarvis Street. The area is full of memories. I usually cross the street to wander through the incredible Allan Gardens, just as we used to do when I was in high school at Jarvis Collegiate Institute, a few blocks up the road.

I'll be on the following two panels:

Solarium Sat. 1:00 PM
Blurring the Lines

Adding real-life people and events into a story can make it more credible – or it might backfire. How do authors weave fact and fiction into a believable story?

Gardenview Sun. 2:00 PM
Writing as an Evolving Process

As with any other art, writing requires practice, and a writer's skill can improve over time. Writers discuss the things they have learned as they have evolved and ways in which they have gained a new level of expertise. How can you tell when you’re improving? How can you judge your own progress as a writer?

Chan Davis is science guest which is pretty cool and one reason I signed on--the Davises are friends dating back to my youth...a few years back Aqueduct Press published his collection, reprint stories from the likes of Asimov's and Analog. I haven't read them except for one in the short lived but awesome Crank Magazine, a long time ago-- I look forward to the opportunity to buy the book--hope he brings lots!
