Telltale, An ode to twenty-somethings
Welcome to my very first blog post!
I wanted to check-in after a about a month post release of my debut Poetry and Prose Collection, Telltale. It has been such a joy drafting, editing, and finalizing this first piece of Poetry of mine. Long hours of digging through past writings of my twenties were spent during the drafting process. Sweat and tears were put into this book, but I am so pleased with the finished product!
Despite and underwhelming response at its release, I've become more comfortable with the slow, but steady growth with Telltale. It took 10 years for it to be written and was oh, so worth it, so I know the responses will start flowing in when the time is right and the wait will be worth it as well.
The feedback so far has been great and I am looking forward to even more feedback as the weeks progress. It even warmed my heart to find that some of you have shelved my book here on goodreads.
If you haven't yet done so, please check out Telltale and if you are a young person about to enter your twenties, or already in your twenties, or even yet, if you're out of your twenties I'm sure you'll be able to find much to relate to.
I'd like to think of Telltale as a sampler plate of my writing and poetry style. There are four main topics that I cover, growing up, epiphanies, personal weakness (including mental illness) and love.
Telltale is also illustrated. I would like to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge my wonderful illustrator Nicolas Walton for the interior illustrations for Telltale. I think the sketch, art style was so fitting and was absolutely perfect!
Telltale: A Poetry and Prose Collection
Stay tuned for future updates. I have my very first book signing coming up November 2023 and am looking forward to connecting to even more readers!
Till next time.
I hope your day was better than yesterday, but not as good as tomorrow.
