He lives in Powell, Ohio, with his wife, Lucia; cat, Pelusa; and dogs, Poco, Tiki, and Gucci.

The idea for it evolved over time, but it began when I saw chipmunks eating food that I put out for the birds. People complain about squirrels and chipmunks eating bird food, but I always figured that they have as much right to it as the birds, and I decided to create something that might help people appreciate these animals instead of considering them pests.(less)

I don't do that. …moreFor me it's more of a compulsion than an inspiration. Many writers set aside some time each day and force themselves into a routine. I don't do that. I tend to write late at night but only when I have the time and inclination. I usually also do a lot of writing on vacations, especially while I'm traveling.(less)

P.S. I almost never find the time to go to the post office anyway. I work a ridiculous number of hours and find time to write usually only very late at night.
