Remix is my third novel; it's the story of Caz Tallis, who is startled one quiet Sunday morning to find a stranger asleep on her roof terrace...

I enjoy reading intelligent, pacey books with humour, and that's what I try to write. I believe it's a crime to bore the reader.

My day job (using my real name, Lexi Dick) is designing and making jewellery and silver; I've made pieces for Lady Thatcher, the Athenaeum and Her Majesty the Queen.

Hi Mike,
So sorry not to answer before. I don't come to Goodreads as often as I should. I've just published Future Warrior, Time Rats Book 3, and it's at a slightly lower price for the first week. Link is here:

So pleased you liked the first two :o)

When editing escapes into the wild...

I tend to worry. As a novelist, I have a good imagination, and readily imagine what could go wrong in any given situation. You can imagine I've had lots of scope for that in the past sixteen months.

I find this bit from Winnie the Pooh encouraging:

“Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Supposing it didn't," said Pooh after careful thought.

Good, huh? But my inner edito Read more of this blog post »

If I'd been his beta reader, I'd have told him he had to tell us more and not leave the characters' ...more "

Thank you, Alice, for your question - it's certainly made me think.

When I wrote my Dark Moon trilogy, I could use the extensive research for the first book, One Dark Night, for the second and third books. I had already written a time travel romance, See Anna’s answer.

"This e-book was a fun read. It is a great take on the time-travel fantasy genre. It will also be enjoyed by fans of Regency Romance novels. Great characters, great descriptions of Kent England in 1814 and 2009. Laura, madly in love with Adam in 1814," Read more of this review »

"I enjoyed this story about two women who have changed timelines. One moved forward in time, and the other went back in time. The author's handling of time travel was fresh, and the cause-and-effect plot twists were intriguing. This is one of my favor" Read more of this review »

“She underestimated Jace. As the man moved in to pursue his advantage, Jace sidestepped him, put his arm round his neck and pushed him off balance. This happened so fast Floss couldn’t follow the moves, even though she’d now done a bit of Krav Maga herself. Standing behind him, Jace tightened his grip, squeezing the man’s neck between his upper and lower arm. It took four seconds for the man’s eyes to close and his body to sag.”
Lexi Revellian, Dreams of the Machines

“Memory plays tricks. People think of it as a filing cabinet, but it’s more like a garden. Things left there change and grow.”
Lexi Revellian, The Trouble with Time

“He had also tried to track down the three customers with PD11 droids who had not taken advantage of the free upgrades to PD12 and 13, hoping to download the software. One he couldn’t trace, the other two refused to cooperate, were indeed rather hostile – they had bonded with their companions, and didn’t want to be reminded of the workings beneath the skin.”

“Yelling at living things does tend to kill the spirit in them. Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will break our hearts...”
Robert Fulghum

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Marianne Williamson, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles"

“In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the
cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat
could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.”
Terry Pratchett, Lords and Ladies

“Somewhere beyond right and wrong, there is a garden. I will meet you there.”
Rumi

“The government [...] cannot be anything other than the organization of a minority. It is the aim of this minority to impose upon the rest of society a 'legal order', which is the outcome of the exigencies of dominion and of the exploitation of the mass of helots effected by the ruling minority, and can never be truly representative of the majority.”
Robert Michels
