September Kindle Discounts Starting 9/6/22
Greetings!
I know it's been a while since we've connected. It's been a challenging year for us with my mother-in-law passing away and then my father a month later. We take one day at a time and speak of them often. There are so many reminders that trigger stories starting with "remember when your mom did this or remember when Dad did that?" I feel them smiling down upon us.
Chiquita and Sophie are doing well. Chiquita is more active and lost almost 3 pounds. Sophie is full grown, with her birthday coming up next week. She's just under 9 pounds. They love going to restaurants (there are quite a few that allow pets for outdoor dining), the park, and shopping, always ready for a nap when they get home.
Yesterday, we went to Stroudfest in Stroudsburg, PA with lots of vendors, live music, and good food (thanks Willowtree Inn for a great, dog-friendly experience). While there, I went into Carroll and Carroll Booksellers, a reader's dream with books on shelves and piled on the floor, and purchased a copy of The Empty House and Other Ghost Stories by Algernon Blackwood. The pups had a great time. Most people brought their dogs to the festival with them. Sophie and Chiquita fell fast asleep on the way home.
I'm working on the fifth Chrissy's Mysteries, and it takes place in the Poconos, so the Stroudfest is likely to make an appearance!
To celebrate Sophie's birthday, the coming of autumn (my favorite season), and Halloween, we've discounted the Kindle editions of my dark fantasy, horror, and fall/Halloween installment of Chrissy the Shih Tzu Cozy Mysteries—Trick-or-Doggy-Treat. As the weather cools and the days get darker, there's nothing I like better than curling up in my big chair with the pups, a cup of lavender tea, and a good book.

Happy Halloween!
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and this time of year inspires spooky stories. As a child, I enjoyed telling scary stories to other kids, sometimes with a flashlight pointing up under my chin or accompanied by ominous notes on the piano. My parents received calls from concerned parents whose children had to sleep with the light on after they had begged me to tell them one of my stories. All I did was accommodate!
The fun of telling a spooky story has stayed with me into the present day. If you've never read them, doing so may conjure childhood fears or the need to sleep with the light on. If you're in the mood for something on the darker side, check out my offerings:
