If that is not the issue, then I get something to eat or drink or take a walk with my dog in the neighborhood or in the park. The movement and change in environment spark new ideas and allows me to take the story in new directions. If the manuscript is non-fiction, a switch to writing a different chapter helps keep up momentum in the book's progress.(less)
