Audio Stories, Free Stories, and the Progress on The Last Witch

So it has been a while since I last posted. I think it was around the 4th of July when I gave my last set of updates. Right after that post I was pretty much slammed at work. Being a newbie fresh out of college geologist working at agricultural consulting company, I'm finding that summer months can be crazy busy sometimes. Sure I love the overtime, but for my hobby of writing, I'm just too busy to touch it sometimes. But now that things slowed down a little bit, I wanted to give you quite a few updates about what is going on.

First of all, for a while now, I have been talking about this crazy audio book project. I was really hesitant to do it before I started, and was a bit nervous while I was doing it because I knew it would eventually make its way to the internet, and I am far from some confident public speaker. But I have been determined because I know that reading things out loud is such a great way for me to revisit my older works and revise them. And finally I have the first story ready for posting. I am beginning with the Island, which is a longer scifi audio story. I am a posting ten minute part every Sunday starting today. There will be ten parts. A part will be posted each week on Sunday. I was learning and slowly gaining confidence as I was go, so I apologize for it being a bit rough.

The Island Synopsis:

In the middle of the second World War, scientists start vanishing all over the world. When Lily's husband is snatched away, she teams up with her brother in law to unravel what is happening to all the world's geniuses. After a year of traveling the world looking for clues, they are led to a mystery island in the eye of a never ending storm. A place that holds more danger than they ever expected

Speaking of audio stories, when I have forty minutes here and there I try to record a little bit. And I recently read through one of my first short stories, Vanity. Now that I have read through it and I have audio draft, I updated the new ebook draft to the storefronts. The new revised draft is essentially the same with the absence of a minor misspelling. But in celebration completing another audio story, I wanted to let this book be free on Smashwords this week. So I will placed the synopsis and coupon down below.

Vanity Synopsis:

Two siblings, Liz and Denny are on a long drive home from college. But when they take a short cut on the back roads through the woods, they have an unexpected accident. With the car damaged, they find themselves on foot walking through the woods. To their surprise, they stumble across a enormous mansion. A house that contains dark secrets that may kill them before the night is done.

This can be used at the Vanity Store front page @ https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Beyond that I am am 20% through building an audio version and revised written version of one of my earliest written and hastily published scifi romps Warped. Also in between chapters (to break up the tedium) I am recording parts of my short story Late Shift at Pennies.

And what I have been calling High Fantasy Project X for the longest time I renamed The Last Witch. Its a bit cliche of a title but its fitting giving the subject matter. I officially have the last story, The Abyss, up on Scribophile for workshopping, and now that I reviewed all the stories, serious editing is taking place and the whole project just took a huge step toward becoming a finished product.

And then lastly I want to post my book review blogs for the last few weeks.

The State of Things Are Not Good

Hi there everyone, I 'm trying my hardest to get into a weekly blogging. But two weeks in a row, my work schedule has been keeping me a little too busy. So I was so excited when it came to this week and I learned it was going to be thirty hour week. So I got started. balancing my work week to work on my projects. I got a bit farther in making audio versions of Warped and Late Shift at Penny's. And as for The Last Witch, I put a lot of work into that and realized I was almost done with edits. I couldn't believe I was really that close to a final product.  I felt so accomplished with what I did that at the end of that last night, I released a tweet announcing that the The Last Witch will be coming out early 2019, if not around Christmas.

Then the unthinkable happened. My computer would not turn on mid-week. I used every trick in the book and called Microsoft. At the end of  it all, I learned that the CPU has died and I had not backed up my work since the beginning of the year. I had to buy a new computer, and the tech guys up at the shop have my from the dead computer trying their best to retrieve my data. And from my understanding, they are having a lot of trouble. Last I heard, its 50/50 chance that I can get my stuff back.

And what stuff is that? That is all of the audio stories. The last two parts of The Island is stuck on that hard drive, as well as the audio version of Somewhere Beyond The Sea and Vanity. The Last Witch is trapped on the hard drive, along with a new horror story Wrong Turn at Albuquerque, and various  new shorts. All of which were in line for editing before any new big project. Also all my book reviews I post on my blogs, are on there as well. So its a bit of a mess, There is only one silver lining to this. The original copies of my work is handwritten in notebooks. And I believe I still have these handwritten copies somewhere but at the end of it all, I lost nearly a year's worth of work, and i am kicking myself for not backing my work up.

Anyways, I did not post in the last couple of weeks. And I did post the  parts 7 and 8 of the Island on Wattpad and Youtube. I will post the links down below.

Parts 7 and 8 of the Island is up on Wattpad at   https://my.w.tt/mtDNyscGnQ

Part 7 of the Audio story can be found @
https://youtu.be/kaLeBAuolOo

Part 8 of the Audio story can be found @
https://youtu.be/IR1sqdhUBCk

Sadly that is all the news I have. It isn't good. I don't know when the audio story project will continue, or what will happen next as everything is in limbo. If you have been enjoying the audio story project, I apologize if there is no ending to The Island a long time. Its just a big mess and everything is still in limbo. I really am hoping everything will end with a happy ending though.  Anyways, I thought I should send out this update, so people  will not wonder why everything suddenly stopped.

Anyways, I hope everyone has a good weekend. New updates will be posted sometime soon, whether its good or bad,

The Broken Princess is Out Now!

Hey everyone, it's time for another round of updates. And let's start with the big one, the fourth short story in The Last Witch Series, The Broken Princess, is now released in ebook form. I will post all the details down below.

While Fran and Brian travel through the mountain pass, the cold gets the better of them. Brian's father falls ill, and is soon knocking on death's door. That is until a knight shows up out of nowhere. The knight claims he's from kingdom close by. He sees that Brian is a witch, and makes him an offer. They will save his father, if Brian can save the princess. Brian is hesitant, but accepts the offer. Once welcomed into the castle Brian learns of the princess, who has the strangest illness he had seen. She is frozen to the bone. Her presence chills the air around her. Frost clings to her ghostly white skin. He's told she has demon inside of her and needs an exorcism. But to Brian, too many things don't add up.

It is available for purchase for $0.99 as an ebook Amazon
and is free with Kindle Unlimited.

It can be found  @ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YK6CYGT

Also the first part of a new audio story is posted. This time its the cute little fantasy called Socks & Fluffle Puffs. The link is down below.

Socks & Fluffle Puffs Part 1: https://youtu.be/WJW-VolLUw0

And remember if you enjoy this, you can support two ways. You can:
- Go to the ebook page @ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RPLH1WP and purchase the ebook version, or flip through the Kindle Unlimited version (That helps as well).
-Or go to the patreon page for Project Stories @ https://www.patreon.com/user?u=10411921 and make a donation. I'm not asking you to subscibe to anything monthly like the Patreon model suggests. A one time donation to show your support is fine.

Beyond that my focus is on the final tale in The Last Witch Series, The Abyss. It still needs a cover sketched out and then brought into photoshop for finalizing. The actual story needs a final review, which I am about to begin soon. The story is shorter, around the length of Old Hobbs, so it shouldn't take nearly as long as The Broken Princess.  It's my goal to get this out before the end of the year.

Also the short In the Land of Gods is partially recorded into audio form, with my read out loud review process. It's fairly short, so that should be soon.

But after those two things, what is next? I have a half edited book that has been abandoned sometime back in 2015 because of college, called Finding Elodie. I want to get back involved in Scribophile writing community and workshop to get the rest of that cleaned up. I think that will be my new main focus, with a short story or possible side project here there to break up the tedium of working on one project all the time.

And that is all I have to share this week. If I have more stuff to share next week, I will be posting again. I hope you have a great week everyone!
