Is literature going the way of fast food?
It's always interesting to read the reviews! To be honest, it makes me a bit nervous sometimes.... not all of them are flattering - luckily the great majority are quite nice and extremely motivating. And most seem genuine and honest - a great feed-back.
Whereas some readers appreciate the humour and let a story develop (although I freely admit my book is a fairy tale...), I sometimes have the feeling that some readers expect ever more spectacular events to happen on every second page -
which leads me to the thoughts: are Hollywood action blockbusters changing the way we're expected to read and write? Would Jane Austen be dumped into the trash bin nowadays?
Is fast food spreading to literature?
A quick story-to-go as we have not time or patience left ?
your feed-back is appreciated :)
cheers

99 ratings - my personal review
To be or not to be....
Publishing your first book is an adventure you start with trepidation - and no author will remain indifferent when the first reviews start popping up on the screen.
I've seen great ones, but I had to swallow deeply on the rare occasions when I've been treated as brainless and silly or readers get worked up about my standards of morality (do they have any idea what was going on in the 17th century? No, they don't!)
Now that I've reached 99 ratings with an average of almost 4 stars, I would like to say thank you to those of you how were kind and also to those who helped me to improve with frank and honest criticism.
Far from being perfect, I'm happy that my books seem to please the vast majority of my readers and (don't take it as menace).... I look forward to writing some more in the future!
Merry Christmas

FREE BOOK TODAY
with a little help of my friends....
the famous lyrics written by the Beatles - I could use some as well.
As an indie author I'm living on the power of reviews and whereas I can see that thousands of books have been downloaded and read (including the sequels) - some more ( preferably not too bad) Amazon reviews would be a great help to promote my books.
Enjoy today's free book - and if you have some time to spare, give me a hand by sending a review to Amazon. com
Cheers!

holiday reading - free book
For all of you who'd like to use the upcoming holiday weeks to spend a few days filled with romance and adventure in the 17th century, have look at kindle today and tomorrow.
the French Orphan can be downloaded - and yes, you can do it with a clean consciousness - not like the many pirated versions that are online and make life for us authors even more difficult.
I wish you a lot of fun, just a reminder, it's a book written for adults, not for kids.
enjoy!
