Suzanne Staton is a writer, editor and musician. A lifelong Texan, she’s worked for almost 20 years professionally as a writer, magazine editor, columnist, and freelance communications consultant. She’s also one-third of the band, The Staylyns, serving as bass player, singer and songwriter.

A long-time member of the Writer’s League of Texas, Suzanne just likes to write. She has degrees in English literature and journalism from the University of Texas at Austin, and when she’s not writing fiction or working freelance assignments, she applies her skills to blogging, social media and songwriting for The Staylyns. She lives in Austin, Texas with her husband and their socialite cat.

I like that they are so human and fully formed as characters. We might all want to be lovable like Melanie Hamilton and gentlemanly like Ashley Wilkes, but the truth is, we're all far more messy and flawed, like Rhett and Scarlett. They are sexy and honest - or at least as honest as Scarlett can be with and about herself. But Rhett accepts Scarlett exactly as she is, and while there is no happy ending for them in the book, the reader can't help but feel that each is the love of the other's life. (less)
