Patrick Samphire is the author of the adult fantasy novels SHADOW OF A DEAD GOD, NECTAR FOR THE GOD, STRANGE CARGO, and the forthcoming LEGACY OF A HATED GOD, as well as the middle grade novels SECRETS OF THE DRAGON TOMB and THE EMPEROR OF MARS. He has published around twenty short stories and novellas.

Patrick has been writing stories since he was fourteen years old and thought it would be a good way of avoiding having to sit through English lessons at school. He was absolutely convinced that he would be famous by the time he was eighteen, but sadly, even infamy has eluded him.

He lives in Wales, surrounded by mountains, with his wife, their sons, and their cat.

When he's not writing, he designs websites and ebooks.

I was planning to regale you with my life story since I wrote from an early stories that have languished in cabinet drawers for several of your lifetimes, Patrick. I didn't actually publish a book until I was 75 years old. My question to you is, finally, "How old were you when you published your first book?" I am not sure that this will even get an answer, since the book was written a long time ago, and I just read it....but... have you written anything else similar to this? I am a retired children's and young adult librarian assistant, and I really enjoyed the story. Mars, dragons, great kid characters, and gadgets... I am looking for the sequel...could there have a prequel? Thank you.

There are also two novellas in the same world, although with a different main character: The Dinosaur Hunters and A Spy in the Deep. Unfortunately, there's not likely to be any more full-length novels, but there may be more novellas in the future, although not this year.
