Celia Hayes was brought up in an eccentric, baby-boom family, and earned a degree in English before a thirst for adventure led her to enlist in the USAF. She trained as a radio/television broadcaster, and served in a wide assortment of duties. Her Texas frontier adventure, the "Adelsverein Trilogy" - the story of the German colonies in the Texas Hill Country - is available on Amazon, in local Texas bookstores and in many local libraries. "Daughter of Texas" and "Deep in the Heart" follow the life of an woman pioneer in the early days of Texas, and the eventful years of the Republic of Texas. Interior Desecrations

Forgive me for stealing the title of one of the drop-dead funniest satirical take-downs of 1970s-era American interior decorating trends, as expressed in then-contemporary decorating magazines and such of that ilk. I giggled myself nearly sick reading the book back then, because I recognized so very many of the once-popular trends. Like the mad pash […]

“Let’s dispel this bloody stupid myth of love at first sight, all this tear-jerking romance you see in films, all this overwhelming passion. They’re feelings I just can’t conceive of, which are capable of reducing an individual who was previously perfectly self-sufficient into a human wreck suffering from all the most worrying psychiatric disorders, from obsessive-compulsive disorder to abandonment anxiety.”
