Author of nine books and two screenplays, Mike is a bestselling American thriller and suspense author who also teaches part-time in the Creative Writing program at Oxford. Interview with Edward Medina, Author of YA Fantasy Adventure Novels
I am delighted to have my Twitter friend, Edward Medina, with me today to talk about his young adult, steampunk fantasy novel, MATHIAS BOOTMAKER AND THE KEEPERS OF THE SANDBOX, BOOK ONE: IT IS SAID.
Ed is a native New Yorker now living in Orlando, Florida by way of Atlanta, Georgia and London, England. He was raised by his mother and grandmother to believe that life is an adventure best lived to the fullest. To that end Edward has lived his life on the edge of creative possibility. Over time, he has been a radio and voice over artist. He built a significant career as a producer, director and writer for both digital media and the New York Off and Off Off Broadway stages. He also had the honor and the privilege to work for the late great Jim Henson. He then went on to become a theme park designer. For fun, he became a steam train engineer and since childhood, a sometime magician. Although, at this point in his life the magic he creates is for the page. In addition to sharing his experiences and latest teasers, Ed has generously agreed to provide a free e-copy of MATHIAS BOOTMAKER AND THE KEEPERS OF THE SANDBOX, BOOK ONE: IT IS SAID for one reader. All you have to do is comment or ask a question at the end of the interview to be entered to win.

Interview with Jana Richards, Author of THE GIRL MOST LIKELY
THE GIRL MOST LIKELY. Author of 7 books, Jana has been creating stories in her head all of her life–sometimes about real people but more often about people she made up. It wasn’t until she was in her thirties that she began to put her stories down on paper. She’s been at it for more than fifteen years, although she’s just recently become published in novel length fiction. Jana says, “Just think of me as the poster child for perseverance!”
She lives in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with her husband Warren, two university age daughters, and a highly spoiled Pug/Terrier cross named Lou. Jana also grows Lupins, Icelandic poppies and grapes in a tough environment, so it’s no surprise she has succeeded in writing in a competitive publishing world. Jana has generously agreed to provide a free e-copy of THE GIRL MOST LIKELY for one reader. All you have to do is comment or ask a question at the end of this interview to be entered to win.

Happy Valentine’s Day, Sweetie!
I am delighted to report that I am a recipient of the Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award. I’d like to thank Marilyn Wigglesworth for this award (*throwing kisses*). I am now supposed to share seven (7) random facts about myself. So, here are some random facts about my writing life.
1. I’m a reformed pantser. I used to write “organically,” but then I found much of my work wound up in the composter, so to speak.
2. I took course with Karen Docter on the “W” Plot and Alexandra Sokoloff on Screenwriting Tips for Authors and saw the light. I now think about my characters’ motivation and goals and plot before I begin to pour my thoughts into my computer.
3. I get ideas for writing from dreams, news reports, and life experiences. Then I wonder, “What if…”
4. I love the Readability utility in Word. Passive voice is my nemesis.
5. Coffee. Nothing more needs to be said.
6. If I don’t time myself, I fritter too much time away on Twitter and Facebook. Morning and evening check-ins and I’m done. Okay, well this is really more of a 2012 goal than a reality, but I’m working on it.
7. DESIRE AND DECEPTION was nominated for an RT Best Erotic Fiction Book of 2011 Award. Yeah, not random, but I HAD to share and pinch myself again!
To celebrate the RT nomination and Valentine’s Day and my Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award, I’m giving away a free e-copy of DESIRE AND DECEPTION to one lucky commenter. To read more and to enter to win go to http://bit.ly/AgSDin

Interview with D. Renee Bagby, Author of PET'S PLEASURE
I am delighted to have my chapter mate from the Fantasy, Futuristic and Paranormal Chapter of Romance Writers of America, D. RENEE BAGBY, who also writes as ZENOBIA RENQUIST, with me today to talk about PET’S PLEASURE. Renee is a self-described military brat turned military wife who is currently stationed in Hawaii with her husband and two cats. Whether writing as D. Renee Bagby or Zenobia Renquist, she is a world-builder. She loves inventing new cultures and shaping their histories and laws because it beats researching the existing ones. Her stories span the fantasy gamut but she dabbles in sci-fi and contemporary from time to time. While her main characters tend to be of different races, she doesn't let skin color rule or limit her stories. For her, it's all about how much she can torture her characters so they earn their happily-ever-after ending. The rules are all new and pre-conceived notions will only slow you down, so when reading Renee's stories, she asks only one thing -- Leave Your Reality Behind.
Renee has generously agreed to provide a free PDF copy of PET’S PLEASURE for one commenter. All you have to do is comment or ask a question at the end of the interview to be entered to win.

Oblique Literary References and a FREE Book by Jannine Gallant
First, I’d like to thank my good friend Sharon for having me on her blog today. Yep, I’m promoting a free book, but first let’s chat about subtleties in our writing.
Have you ever told a joke that nobody gets? Or written a great line that’s maybe just a little too ambiguous? I’m the kind of person who has to say “pun intended” or no one notices. So, when I created my series, Secrets of Ravenswood, and not one reader commented on my clever references to a famous poem, I really shouldn’t have been surprised…
