Les přijde v mých překladech na řadu každopádně, ale asi ne úplně hned - dokonce už vím, že se nebude jmenovat Les, ale Hlemýžď na úbočí, což je přesný překlad originálu (a zároveň citát z jednoho japonského přísloví).

Teď je v redakčním procesu "minisbírka" Útěky z pekla, obsahující novely Pokus o útěk a Kluk z pekla (plus dvě povídky u nás ještě nikdy nepublikované). Ta ale vyjde skoro určitě až příští rok. A úplně určitě vyjde až příští rok druhá "minisbírka", která ještě ani nemá název a na jejímž překladu teprve začínám pracovat: s novelami Miliardu let před koncem světa a Capart (ta dřív vyšla jako Špunt) a dvěma povídkami, u nás vydanými začátkem 80. let. No a po ní se bude nabízet hned několik možností, co překládat dál - a Les je jednou z nich.

Nejsem si jistý, co konkrétně myslíte, když mluvíte o mých názorech... Ale v posledních měsících se mnou vyšly dva rozhovory, čímž jsem zvesela zdvojnásobil svůj celoživotní počet interview :) Mohu jen doufat, že to nebude konečné číslo...(less)

Co se týče vymýšlení novotvarů, tak tam je to vždycky otázka názoru. Mně třepanda přišla vhodná, protože má tři slabiky, takže to skandování pak hezky ladí s tím rozsvěcováním/zhasínáním tří světel. Zrovna ve Dravých věcech naší doby je novotvarů velká spousta a spousta je v tomto ohledu také rozdílů oproti minulému překladu - například místní "droga" se u mě jmenuje "křus", jedna ze skupin ve městě jsou "rmouti" atd. Nový překlad s sebou zkrátka přináší novou (a pro čtenáře toho prvního překladu nezvyklou) sadu termínů - ale tomu se asi nelze vyhnout... Co se týče Lesa, tak ten jsem zatím nepřekládal, ale mám to do budoucna v plánu - a rozdíly tam budou... no ne možná zásadní, ale citelné, jelikož ten původní překlad, jak se to často stávalo, vycházel z cenzurou pocuchaného originálu. Každopádně znovu děkuji za pochvalu - každá taková pochvala pro mě znamená obrovskou vzpruhu! A ať se daří! Kosťa Šindelář(less)
