“Beware of a client who's suing on principle and paying by the hour. He rarely gets his money's worth.”
― Diary of a Small Fish
― Diary of a Small Fish
“Only a few short years ago, the average stay-at-home mom spent her relaxation time reading Jackie Collins and staring at the pool boy. Now, half of them are outselling Jackie Collins writing porn about the pool boy.
The other half are writing reviews of them."

“Remember, we all make our work available in a commercial transaction, the terms of which we, ourselves, dictate. If we give it away for free, that’s our decision, and there is no refuge in the lame defense, “what do you want for nothing?” The buyer does not waive his right to express his opinion."

“Elmore Leonard's Ten Rules of Writing
1. Never open a book with weather.
2. Avoid prologues.
3. Never use a verb other than "said" to carry dialogue.
4. Never use an adverb to modify the verb "said”…he admonished gravely.
5. Keep your exclamation points under control. You are allowed no more than two or three per 100,000 words of prose.
6. Never use the words "suddenly" or "all hell broke loose."
7. Use regional dialect, patois, sparingly.
8. Avoid detailed descriptions of characters.
9. Don't go into great detail describing places and things.
10. Try to leave out the part that readers tend to skip.
My most important rule is one that sums up the 10.
If it sounds like writing, I rewrite it.”

Pete, love the hook at the beginning of your new novel (but I guess you've heard that one a bit.) ( :
Thanks for the friend request! (:And yeah, when OR makes you do something, you'd better do it. LOL. ;) /jk
Hi Cheri - I've asked to "claim" it already, but they must suspect I'm a fraud. I think they're doing a background check.;-)
My first fan! Ohhhhhhh!!!!!

Thanks - in the interest of full disclosure, that opening punch line (“but I never thought it was a federal crime") was a gift from someone else.
One of the great things about beta readers!
