Madelyn Smith is a happy wife and mom by day and a reader and writer by night. After years of reading fantasy and romance books she felt inspired to start writing in 2023. Madelyn loves to read clean and closed-door romance and fantasy books, so she decided to write them too. With Christian elements in her books, her writing will be perfect for those who want a swoony romance, with a divine perspective.
When writing she likes to snack on pretzels and marshmallows, water, and any chocolate her husband surprises her with. Not to mention hostess donuts. Bring on all the hostess donuts.
During her day she can be found interacting on Bookstagram, playing legos and play-pretend with her two toddlers, or enjoying serving in her congregation as a m

We can always strive to be better, and if we need help changing then we can turn to God for help. There is always a better version of ourselves waiting for us to reach for, and that takes effort daily, but when we make that effort we feel happier. (less)

I have a whole fairytale retelling series planned just from reading books with my kids. That's where I get a lot of my fantasy book ideas.

As for Romantic Comedies I think I get ideas from tropes, and how to twist it to something I want to read. I find what I like in other books and make it mine. So I have the Bolts of Love series planned, and then another series following siblings falling in love that's on the backburned for a few years.

I think anything can inspire you, as long as you're willing to sit and think about a plot for a minute. Scenes can come to you at any point in time, while doing anything. Write them down and pretty soon you can piece together a story and it's awesome. (less)

Episode 2: Being a Business Author vs. Hobby Author

Time to hear my thoughts on being a hobby author vs. a business focused author. This one might be hard to hear for some, but I feel like it contains a lot of truths that beginning authors need to hear so that their expectations are measured when it comes to publishing. The publishing journey, and author journey is long, so let’s talk about being business focused vs. hobby focused.

"Oh my gosh, this book was so fun and sweet! Not to mention laugh-out-loud funny! Maybe it's the clever chapter titles. Maybe it's the sweet, handsome, and chivalrous cowboy. Maybe it's the fun banter. Heck, maybe it's just the cowboy. Period. 😂 But I" Read more of this review »

I really loved this little story. From a bad review to learning the ranch life from a cute rancher!

Loved the characters and this story was really fun filled!"

“The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts. Therefore, guard them well. Take care that you entertain no notions unsuitable to virtue and reasonable nature. Not every thought that enters your mind is yours.”

“I have had to step down from my duties in the quorum. Another will take my rank. But that is as it should be. Positions should be based on merit and capability, not on tradition or connection. I put your name in as a possible replacement. They decided on another. Someone with stronger ties to the military.”

“Because you are one of those men who can’t live without a little wholesome tyranny from the women in their lives.” “‘Wholesome tyranny’?” he said, chuckling. “I want to buy bags of spiced peanuts now and then and not have you balk at eating your share. I want to care for you and . . . help you with your work . . . and I want you to read books with me and talk about the things we read . . . and share things with each other. And I want you to teach me. As . . . as equals. Well, someday. I don’t want you to think I am unable to contribute to your life. That you have to do everything yourself. If we did marry, I would want to buy a Broadwood grand and make you play it every day, even if I can’t hear the notes. For me . . . things must go both ways.” She stepped closer to him, looking at him sternly, feeling the bowler hat brush against her. “Or not at all.”
