I’m a writer who really loves “Star Trek”. I’m a geek. By day, I'm an infant teacher with eight adorable and fun kiddos. By night, I write young adult contemporary. I can frequently be found cuddled under a blanket with a cup of coffee and binge watching "The Office" for the umpteenth time.

I confess that I'm not always the best at finish things. One of my biggest fears/joys is reading and experiencing something for the first time. You can only experience that in a unique way, once. For that reason, I struggle with finishing the last book in a series or the last episodes of a TV series. I don't want it to end. I prefer to keep imagining what ifs and to enjoy it. Meaning, I've never seen the last episodes of some shows or finished the last ch

I love how he begins as her teacher after she saves his life. They grow together in such a sweet way! It's not the most traditional love story, but I think that's why I love it more. :)

A close second favorite would have to be Aragorn and Arwen from "The Lord of the Rings!" A ranger and an elf, beautiful. :)(less)

Why I Don't Write Anymore

I'm staring at a blinking cursor, with the purpose of writing about not writing anymore. It doesn't make sense to even write it.

The last novel I finished writing was in... November of 2017. And it was terrible. Trust me, I've reread it and it's terrible.

My lifetime writing word count on the Nano website says that I've written 460,057 words. (Which isn't counting the two books I wrote during Ca Read more of this blog post »

"This is a mildly diverting, well-intentioned tale, but ultimately its themes of the subjugation, oppression, and othering of certain members of society prove to be too much for TJ Klune to really honor with any sense of palpable drama or tension. I’v" Read more of this review »

“Lainey, you may not be my biological daughter, but you are a daughter to me. I can't be your dad if you don't let me, and I understand, but I will always be waiting for you if you want me. It's not an offer I will trade or give up. I love you as if you were my child. Don't ever forget that. You can tell me anything.”
Krista McLaughlin, Breathless

“As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Veronica Roth, Divergent
